A month ago, during National Day, I bought a total of some pancakes from Mr Bean back home after the parade. I bought 6 pancakes, 2 cheese, 1 peanut, 1 kaya, 1 red bean and 1 caramel custard so that everyone in my family can have one each. As I was passing by Mr Bean yesterday, I realised that they had a new flavour for their pancake; DOUBLE CHOCOLATE!Being a chocolate lover, I definitely couldn't just walk on by without trying it!Howwwwwwwever, I was disappointed!The pancake was cold and hard and the flour was too thick.The double chocolate filling in it was also too thick and rather bitter.It definitely would have been much better if it was warm as the chocolate would have been more melted and the pancake would have been softer.

Mr Bean has the best round pancakes in Singapore. So hot and fresh, always served freshly made, unlike all the other places which serve cold and stale. Costs $1.10 which is reasonable. Love the perfect pastry and perfect filling. Love the texture and the fragrance. Love the service (sometimes). Love their beancurds and soy ice cream too. The ice cream at $1.80 is very generous in size. This beancurd joint is one of the best in Singapore for their quality and price.

I had a tough time deciding between the cheese pancake and the caramel custard pancake, and so I decided to simply order both. The pancake itself was so fragrant that I could smell it as soon as I open the bag. The caramel custard filling was smooth, though it was slightly sweeter than what I would like it to be.
