My Chicken Rice (已結業)

Looking around, thinking what to eat. I spot a small sign hand-written "Laksa" at the chicken rice stall. Looks like its today special is Laksa. It has been such a cold day since outside has raining all day long. Hopefully this will warm me up. The soup is rather thick and not too spicy. Real pick me up on a cold day. Inside filled thick bee hoon, slices of fish cake, bean puff and hard boiled egg. It costs $2.80 a bowl, which I feel is quite value for money.

After trying the noodle dishes the last few times, I am finally having its signature chicken rice. Today there is only roasted chicken available. For a plate of roasted chicken rice, it costs $3.00. If roasted chicken drumstick rice, it will costs $4.00. There is free flow of shredded soup outside the stall to help yourself to. For the serving, the deboned chicken looks quite and tastes abit too dry. The rice is soft and flavourful. The chilli is also not bad.

Besides chicken rice and Ipoh hor fan, this stall also sells Lor Mee for $2.80. Instead of the usual yellow egg noodles, I have it replaced with thick rice noodles. There is a whole piece of traditional fish cake, a deep fried crispy fish cake, a row of wu xiang, before topping with the brown gluey sauce. Lastly topped with the small crispy bits (my favourite). It is very filling and tasty one dish meal.

Looking around to decide what. Not feel like having chicken rice for lunch, so order Ipoh Hor Fan. At $2.80 a plate, it is quite a big amount. Huge chunky of skinless and boneless chicken on top of the silkly hor fan. But I feel very interesting is the crispy bites which the aunty put on top of the hor fan. Even cover with the sauce, it still tastes very crispy and crunchy.
