Ask anyone who’s studied at NUS before and he or she is sure to have eaten at The Cheese Prata Shop before. Not surprisingly, I was an undergraduate at NUS a few years back and my friends and I have settled quite a number of dinners at this prata place throughout the years. Once in a while, we will still gather for a meal here even though we’ve all graduated – to reminisce about the uni days as well as for the food For me, I never fail to order these 2 items when I’m here… it’s definitely comfort food for me 1)Maggi Goreng! Honestly, I’ve not had maggi goreng from other places before. However, even though I don’t have any comparison, I strongly feel that their version is truly yummy! (I’m not the only one who says that!) This is a very simple dish consisting of maggi mee stir-fried with egg and some veg & shredded cabbage. As I have low tolerance for spicy food, I always ask for this to be non-spicy. I’m not sure what is it they add to make the noodles so red, but either way it’s all very delicious 2)Tomato PrataThis is a very straight forward dish – sliced tomato in prata. I think most people will think that this prata is kinda strange but there’s just something about the combination of sliced tomato and prata that I really reallyyyy like. The accompanying curry is also just right – nice and savoury with all the spice flavours infused together 繼續閱讀

The crowds came from people looking for supper and nearby university. The staff can be unresponsive at times. Food served was slow for us.We were in the area again, and I had a nasi lemak craving and this place's nasi lemak was my favourite. The chicken was crispy and well fried, rice was real fragrant, egg was perfectly cooked as you can see in the photo. Chilli was perfect and complimented everything to make the perfect nasi lemak in my opinion. Since I've quite a big appetite, I ordered a roti john to fill me up. The bread was fragrant but could use a little more meat in, otherwise worked fine with dipping it into the curry. 繼續閱讀

This is the first time I am patronising the shop after its major revamp. It looked hideous before that! Well, that is history. The shop looks clean, spacious, more organised and brighter. My husband has been all praises for the food here. Being a skeptic, I had to try it to believe it. We had our brunch there. We went for the prata first. We ordered cheese, chocolate, plain and onion prata. Mine was the onion prata. They were served with fish curry. The fish curry was nice, not too sour, not too spicy. Ordinary, but went well with the prata. Onion PrataIt has been a while since I had this kind of (I mean delicious) prata in Singapore. The last time was in KL. This prata was soft, not chewy like most of the prata you get now a days. My husband says it is because they do not buy the ready-made prata dough but make it themselves. I cannot vouch for it, but I can assure you that you will love the prata here.Nasi Gorend Ikan Bilis with mata lembuThe Best I have had (Better than that sold two shops away from here)The rice was well-cooked. A good quality rice was used. It was not oily. The anchovies were crispy. I will certainly go back to this place 繼續閱讀

This is a memorable dining moment for me because...Im a great fan of Pratas. Most of all I love cheese pratas at the prata shop in clementi. ITs so cheesy, filling & tasty. Its cheap as well. It is served with a gravy. My hubby is a great fan of these pratas too & we normally go there to have pratas on a sunday evening on our way back from church. 繼續閱讀

The Cheese Prata shop is a favourite supper hang out of residents and students living near NUS. It sells a variety of pratas, murtabaks, rice dishes etc. typical indian food basically. While it is often quite full, i have never seen a que there before, probably because the customer turnover rate is quite high as most order simple dishes like prata and teh.My friend and i ordered a milo dinosaur each($2), a tissue prata ($1.50) and a Pattaya chicken($5.50). The tissue prata was good, it was crispy and did not have too much sugar on it. My milo dinosaur was not thick enough, it tasted a little bit too watery and they were stingy with the milo powder on top as well. The pattaya chicken was very fragrant though the portion was humongous, we couldn't finish the mountain of rice. 繼續閱讀
