Handmade Noodles Seafood Soup
食評 (5)
What’s most striking about this bowl of noodles is its deceivingly simplistic exterior. It really doesn’t look like much. The cloudy soup (a hallmark of a well-done bowl of ban mian) however is the first indicator that beneath its unassuming façade lies a dish of truly potent proportions. The ikan billis is flavourful, strong and crispy, and remains crunchy for a surprisingly long time while submerged in the soup (do try to eat it as soon as possible though –nobody wants soggy ikan bilis). I particularly enjoy digging for the egg yolk, and with its similar colour, find it akin to digging for gold. Indeed, it’s one of the highlights of my meal, with its tendency to explode in mouths of hungry customers, filling them enjoyably with warm eggy goodness infused with a fair serving of tasty broth. For our full review with photos, please visit http://freshffm.blogspot.sg/2014/06/qiu-rong-ban-mian-great-noodles-great.html 繼續閱讀

The handmade noodles, i.e. ban mian at Qiu Rong Hand made Noodles, are fantastic. The soup is savory with generous share of ingredients, and the noodles has great texture. However, what I like even more than the ban mian from this stall, is their guo tie, which is fried chinese dumplings stuffed with pork and chives fillings. While one might find the skin slightly thick in the beginning, its crispy texture, makes the dumpling taste great with the vinegar dip. 繼續閱讀

Dry ban mian in the food court. cheap and tasted nice. The ban mian was freshly made every day. The noodle was chewy and have some egg flavour in it. That means the dough has added eggs inside which enhance the flavour and texture. The ban mian in this stall was very popular, there will be queue to buy this esp during lunch time. The dry and soup one are equally nice so it is just up to you to choose. The toomyum you mian was nice too, I love it! 繼續閱讀

This stall is located at the basement food court of Roxy Shopping Centre, next to Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel. Though it is in an air-conditioned food court, the prices of food served here are not expensive. So sometimes my colleagues and I will come here to have our lunch. This round I ordered the Youmian ($2.80). The portion is big and the stall owners are generous with the pork and vegetables (cai xin) they put in this bowl of Youmian soup. The soup is also delicious and it's tempting to finish all the soup. After finishing the whole bowl, I always feel very full and satisfied, and this round too. 繼續閱讀
