FOODMini Dragon Roll - $9The sushi are lined up horizontally and a prawn head and tail are added to both ends such that it turns out to be like a mini dragon. The sushi is topped off with slices of mango and tiny "eggs". It taste quite special, with sweetness of the mango complimenting the taste of the prawn sushi. Its sushi presentation is one of the best I have ever seen!Tan Tan Ramen - $11 This tan tan ramen tastes quite normal, just that it's too salty and spicy. AMBIENCEA great place to dine and chill, as it's not very crowded.SERVICEThe service staffs are quite polite and are quite fast in clearing away the plates.

New on the menu is the Baked Asari Cheese Pasta S$11. Although pasta reminds me of italian food, I'm quite curious how Japanese would prepare the dish. Ended up, it was quite a pleasant surprise. This might sound silly but I did a count of the clams given, and it totals up to about 9? The hot plate serving the pasta is very very shallow, so the food portion is good for ladies and might not be enough for men. I ordered the Kani Mentai Mayo Roll S$8, and would like to seek if its comparable to the Shiok Maki from Koh Grill. Well, although it isn't as satisfying as Shiok maki, simply because the mental covering the maki was not excessive enough. Nonetheless, it's priced at half the price of Shiok Maki, so I think it's quite reasonable. As for the taste, it's good enough to satisfy me. I can feel that all ingredients made are quite fresh! I'm rarely a fan of chain restaurants, but I do like Sushi Tei. The Holland Village location is pretty close to where I live and always has a queue of hungry people, even on weekdays. You can sit inside or outside, but it's pretty warm on their terrace. I like sitting at the tables along the sushi conveyor belt. This way you can choose sushi rolls as they come out. You can tell the price by the color of the plate and it's from $2.20 for vegetarian sushi all the way up to $6 or so for the prawn and avacodo sushi. I like that there are so many choices on the conveyor belt and usually get some kappa maki ($2.20), tamago sushi (S$2.20). unagi sushi ($4 I think) and edamame ($3). If you want more creative or expensive sushi, you order it from the menu. Right now Sushi Tei's seasonal menu features wagyu beef, and they are even offering beef sushi so I wanted to try that. I was dining with 2 other people, so we got the larger set for $13.80 with 2 different kinds of beef sushi. The meat was very lightly cooked and had a rich beef flavour. It's definitely worth trying and a lot cheaper than getting a wagyu steak!I also find the service at Sushi Tei to be quite good. I guess they want to free up the tables as quickly as possible, so they're very quick at serving you the food and refilling your drinks. I love that the iced green tea is complimentary.

Sushi Tei is one of my favourite lunch out place, as the food here always please me well. Their sushi rolls are fresh, very presentable and appetizing. The sashimi is very fresh too, with the natural sweetness. My favourite is the inari sushi with tuna filling. The sweetness of the inari (beancurd sheet) matches so well with the tuna mayonnaise. Yum! The chawamushi (steamed egg) is delicious too. You can choose to have the normal one or the one comes with generous amount of crabmeat. Another awesome dish is the Tamago (omelet) wrap with the eel. The eel is cooked with sweet teriyaki sauce, wrapped in the yummy tamago, this is the dish that you can't miss! As for dessert, mochi is good, and it comes with a few different flavours.

Sushi Tei is simply the worst Japanese restaurant I have ever been to. The waiter and waitress there are very inexperience! And what’s worst they make me wait for a whole 15 minutes or even longer just to stare at my Kaisen Kaminabe dish so as to let it cooked. Shouldn’t they at least boiled my soup and cooked some of the raw dishes before serving I am very disappointed with their service and the taste of the food. I bet ichiban’s food is much nicer and tastier. What's more, the soup is ove flowing and when i told one of the waiter he claims that it's okay, the soup will evaporate. what logic is that! The whole dish was a mess. It consists of prawn, scallop, zuwai crab and salmon and simply everything wasn’t cooked and they were served raw! I did not enjoy the food as I wasn’t even sure if the foods are cooked or not. Even the prawn takes ages to be cooked. I will definitely not patronize this shop ever. Moreover, i am quitedisgusted with the miso soup base.
