Tasty Wok is a restaurant located in Tanglin Mall food court itself. Having an area near the entrance, it draws boundary with wooden barriers to mark its territory and secure seats. Had dinner here 2 months back after a visit to Gleneagles hospital. It was a promotion for crabs that attracted us, with that I've just mentioned, once again I don't remember the exact pricing but it was satisfying enough for both financially and to our tummies.We ordered a chilli crab and minced pork tofu. We were also served with a small starter of keropok(fish crackers). The minced pork tofu was a wise dish to order, soft and silky tofu were surrounded by tasty gravy and small pieces of meat. The chilli crab, though definitely not the best I've tried so far, was desirable too as the sweet and savoury of tomato and chilli base brought out my taste buds. The crab however, turned to be rather small compared to the live piece a staff showed us prior to ordering.. yes she held a live crab in her hand for better understanding, most of the staff there are proficient in mandarin and speak barely english. Still, at least the flesh didn't stick to the crab shell and its meat was tender.Not too bad for a Chinese cuisine fix, all in an air-conditioned environment and of coffee shop tze char prices.
