It was a rainy Saturday morning when I headed for breakfast food session at The Rotisserie with OpenRice members and bloggers at Rochester Mall. It is a walking distance approximately 10 minutes from Bouna Vista MRT station. This is my first time here to this area. The café is infused with Australian culture with spacious layout and white washed walls. It was a rainy Saturday morning when I headed for breakfast food session at The Rotisserie with OpenRice members and bloggers at Rochester Mall. It is a walking distance approximately 10 minutes from Bouna Vista MRT station. This is my first time here to this area. The café is infused with Australian culture with spacious layout and white washed walls. It is furnished with solid wood tables with fabric sofa chairs for indoor seating and aluminium tables and chairs for outdoor seating. There are also bar wooden tables and high stools chairs available in indoor seating.

There are menu boards at the cashier counter where you can choose your choice of the day. It is self service order and pay at the cashier first. The staffs will then process your order and you collect the order at the food area. There is the queue stand at the cashier area to make sure the customers are aware the queue point.

 I ordered Panini (Shaved Leg Ham with tomato, cheese and seeded mustard). Another way of saying is that bread sandwich with the mentioned ingredients toasted. It was definitely a filling choice. The ham portion is quite generous and you can see the thickness of the Panini on the plate.

 There are also other available choices for breakfast. You can try the Smoked Salmon Bagel with Cream Cheese with the choice of bagel (Pain Bagel/ sesame Bagel, with/without cream cheese). One of the member commented that the smoked salmon taste good with the cream cheese and bagel. It’s not too smoked taste but the bagel is a bit hard to bite.

 I ordered English breakfast tea to complete my breakfast. They also served other tea choices such as Earl grey and chamomile. As for the choice of coffee, you can choose from cappuccino, latte and flat white. Photos below is art coffee served.

 Customers started to flow in after 10 am morning despite for raining day. Surprisingly the business is good despite it is rainny days and people just seems to start off with a nice breakfast here for the weekend.

As for my view, it is one of the place to begin with filling breakfast choice and warm and cosy ambience at an affordable price. Simply a place to laze around for family members & friends bondings.

Rosti Breakfast Set

I was around Rochester Mall on a Sunday with a few friends and we decided to try out the breakfast sets at The Rotisserie. I ordered a Breakfast Rosti ($11) set which came with bacon, sausages and of course a rosti with an egg on top. They were quite generous with the rosti but the sausages were a little bit on the skinny side. I also ordered an Iced Hazelnut Latte ($5) which was ok but I still prefer the coffee at Pies & Coffee which is also at Rochester Mall. They don't exactly have a very wid

They were quite generous with the rosti but the sausages were a little bit on the skinny side. They don't exactly have a very wide selection of breakfasts and their sets are rather standard fare that you can get at a diner.

The place serves breakfast in a quick pace and they specialize in chickens. I had classic panini which has bountiful amount of chicken chunks in it, and I was totally bought over.

 At first I thought there were enough seats for customers, but little did I know The Rotisserie was so popular such that the indoors seatings were filled up by 10am, and late comers resort to sit outdoors. As it was raining before that, the weather was cooling enough. Not too bad!

Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato & Mayonnaise

Bacon was obviously the star of the dish. Since it's only bacon, they were pretty generous with it and you can see several bacon strips sandwiched between the toasted white bread. Comes with garden salad, but without salad dressing, so it was a little dull.

Roasted Chicken, Ham, Bacon, Tomato, Lettuce, Cheddar Cheese & Mayonnaise

Compared to the smoked salmon bagel, I love this panini much much more ❤!
Look at the description and you'll know there are really many ingredients under this humble looking panini bread.
This was generally a lip-smacking sandwich because the chicken slices was covered in adequate amount of mayonnaise and cheddar cheese!! Thumbs up to the cheese especially! The mayonnaise makes the chicken not dry at all, as well as the ham and bacon. I really love every bite I had. I strongly recommend this.

 Smoked Salmon Bagel with Cream Cheese

Can I tell you how good is this salmon bagel? Along with the cream cheese and its very smooth plain bun, this dish was a very appetizing and delicious bun. Commented by estelle, she finds the smoked salmon not as cold as expected. But I thought it was fine. That taste of the smoked salmon was balanced with the salty taste from the salmon, and sour taste from the cream cheese. Good one!^^

 I order the English breakfast tea $4, and surprisingly, though I didn't add sugar, it taste not as bad!
In fact I like the genuine taste, so I skipped the sugar and cream.

Overall, I thought I had another enjoyable weekend morning breakfast at The Rotisserie, and I would love to bring my friends or my boyfriend over to chill out here. Probably not rochester since I don't live near boonlay. Perhaps the other outlets! But the food are really worth another visit. And did I mention the price is really affordable?

Lunch at The Rotisserie

Happened to be at Rochester Mall one afternoon and was deciding on what to have for lunch. The nearest restaurant was The Rotisserie and looking inside the restaurant and was so tempted by the chicken. Went in with my friend and we ordered a quater chicken and a spinach quiche. I thought the food was not bad though. The quiche was fresh and delicious. Whats more, I topped up for for one side which includes some side that you get to choose. I chose the pasta salad. The nearest restaurant was The Rotisserie and looking inside the restaurant and was so tempted by the chicken. Went in with my friend and we ordered a quater chicken and a spinach quiche. I thought the food was not bad though. The quiche was fresh and delicious. Whats more, I topped up for for one side which includes some side that you get to choose. I chose the pasta salad. There are other sides such as baked potatoes, garden salad to choose from. The chicken was delicious too which I think is their signature dish judging from the name and that almost every table in the restaurant ordered a chicken. What I like about the restaurant is the portion and the cosy ambience. Coffee looks good there too which I am planning to try next time.

Freshly Baked Quiche

The Rotisserie is located just beside Obolo Galeria at Rochester Mall. The mall is quite new and has a number of interesting restaurants like Cali's Cafe and 2fifteen Kitchen. I was there on a weekday to have lunch with a few colleagues and ended up ordering their Quiche set ($9.90) which is baked fresh daily and comes with a choice of sides. I picked the potato salad but the other sides like their pasta salad and lentils looked really yummy too. The Quiche was quite good and the potato salad wa

I also added a Pineapple Smoothie ($3.50) to my meal - it was a super sour concoction packed with loads of vitamin C. Overall, the staff here are friendly and it's a quiet, cozy place to have a meal at.

Nothing can drag me out of bed as early as 7 on a chilly rainy Saturday morning... perhaps with the exception of good food.  I took a liking for the ambience the moment I stepped into this restaurant. This place is adorned with simple but beautiful decor with bright lighting. The other patrons are mostly families sharing some quiet bonding time together, reading newspapers and chatting over breakfast.

If you want iced water, it is at a self-service counter in the restaurant itself. The service-wise, I think they seem to adopt this minimum-interference stance. The waitress only appeared when necessary (ie. To take orders at the beginning and clear table at the end). They can up the ante of their service by asking the patrons how they liked the food, a practice done by more conscientious restaurants.

My choice for breakfast: Panini BBQ Chicken
Panini refers to sandwich.

 I liked the taste of the sandwich a lot. The flavour is strong but not overpowering, there is a fair amount of chicken slices. There is a bit too many onions though... they could cut down on that. The cherry tomatoes are sour and not sweet. I like sour cherry tomatoes but most of the others don't.

 The portion is just right to fill my stomach. However it will be too much for people who do not usually eat much for breakfast.

I also had a cup of cappuccino (Choice of coffee/tea). For coffees, there's only cappuccino, latte and flat-white to choose from. For teas, choices available are: English breakfast, earl grey and chamomile.

 (I like to see the pictures that baristas draw on coffees.) The coffee is really fragrant.

Rather nice roasted chicken & pork knuckle

Has heard from a few friends that the food here is not bad, hence I decided to try this today with my 2 other foodie buddies. Hehe, they are always supportive and let me choose a wide variety of food for my review - thanks gals! We ordered the quarter roasted chicken and the half pork knuckle from the meals section for sharing. I found it a bit puzzling though that if you choose salad instead of fries as your side, you'll get a choice of 2 different kinds of salads (instead of one, as i was led

 - Quarter chicken with potato salad and rocket salad

You get to choose your quarter chicken part - either the drumstick or the breast. I personally prefer the drumstick and hence chose that gladly. The gravy drizzled atop was ok, quite tasty and not too salty. The meat itself was tender and roasted well, although they did not put any special marinade for the meat. Hence, if you like a "cleaner" taste for your chicken, this is pretty good. They probably used fresh chicken as there was no "frozen chicken" taste.

 Half Pork Knuckle with rice salad & Vietnamese chicken salad

I had some misgivings initially about ordering pork knuckle, as it sounds to be a rather sinful dish. However, I was really surprised that I actually liked the pork knuckle here. The meat inside was rather tender and tasted like ham actually - lightly salted. The knuckle was not fatty and had plenty of lean meat. They could improve on the roasting of the skin on the knuckle though, as it was not crackling crispy and was a bit tough.

Moving on to the sides. There is a choice of 5 different kinds of salads from the salad bar counter. With the exception of coleslaw (which I deemed to be too normal a choice), we managed to try all the salad sides.

 - Potato salad, Roast tomato & feta rice salad

The potato salad was tossed in a light mayo sauce together with some pine nuts - Pretty good.

As for the roast tomato & feta rice salad, it was horrible. Firstly, they did not give any feta for our serving. Secondly, the rice was very hard and dry, hardly palatable. Seriously regretted choosing this side.

 - Rocket & corn salad with bacon, coleslaw

The corn and bacon bits mixed into the rocket salad with some vinaigrette dressing gave it a nice lift. However, I tasted quite a few bitter leaves in the salad and couldn't finish it off.

 - Vietnamese chicken & mint salad (on the right)

The Vietnamese salad had a tangy taste to it - there's probably lime or lemon mixed into it, and gave it a very refreshing taste together with the mint. The chicken pieces inside were alright as well, regular breast meat pieces which were not too tough.

Somewhere in the middle of the restaurant, there's a little counter for you to get your own iced water (with lemon slices added to it) and sauces.

Well, generally an ok meal - just be careful with the sides you choose! The quarter chicken cost $11.50 while the half pork knuckle was $18.

 Receipt - Those working at Biopolis get a 10% discount

If you are a fan of roasted chicken or pork knuckle, you can give this place a try for the meats. There is plenty of both indoor and alfresco seating available and the area is pretty quiet, good for a little gathering.

    A Disappointing Meal

    Since The Rotisserrie is just a short 5 minute walk behind my house, I walked over with my boyfriend to try the roasted chicken. We had walked past it many times to see people having their meals there. Thinking it was popular, we headed back on a rainy afternoon. Sadly, we were disappointed by the fare there. The roasted chicken thigh did not retain any of its juiciness, it was dry and difficult to eat. Any flavouring if any was minimal and we could barely taste it. I ordered the soup of the day

     Sadly, we were disappointed by the fare there. The roasted chicken thigh did not retain any of its juiciness, it was dry and difficult to eat. Any flavouring if any was minimal and we could barely taste it. I ordered the soup of the day with a slice of bread ($5.90). There were a few pieces of potato, corn and slices of bacon but not enough to justify the price I paid. The bread was cold and hard. I could've paid a little extra and have proper soup with chunky ingredients at another soup specialty shop.
