Tiong Bahru Wah Yuen (已結業)

Had the plain porridge set meal with chicken and raw fish for $7. The porridge was served piping hot but the portion of chicken was quite little. The raw fish tasted alright and went well with the condiments and raw vegetables. The squeezed lime gave it the sour taste while the fish itself was slightly sweet. Porridge was plain-tasting but the chicken complemented with the porridge well. 

Price aside, Tiong Bahru Wah Yuen is a brand of its own. I ordered shao ji fan (roasted chicken rice) for $3, and the chicken was boneless and they gave a lot of meat. very generous with their portion.the rice was fragrant with chicken flavour, perhaps using chicken rice paste. the chilli is home-made! i would definitely go back to visit the store again when passing by the area as the chicken used is so fresh and juicy!
