I've passed by this shop many times before but never bought anything. Finally my curiosity got the better of me and I decided to try their Choco Chip Muffin. At $1.50, the muffin was quite huge.I loved how the muffin crumbles in your mouth and how it's filled with chocolate chips everywhere.Definitely one of the better choco chip muffins I've tried! 繼續閱讀

Yang Hua Cake House (one of Singapore's most established traditional pastry brands) is having Mid-Autumn Booth that selling Mid-Autumn tradition of mooncakes at Basement 1 of Parkway Parade with it's vast selection of mooncakes. With the approach of the Mid-Autumn Festival, there's no better way to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with my loved ones than with these mouth-watering mooncakes from Yang Hua Cake House.I bought a box of 4 mooncakes for my girlfriend after she saw 30.17% OFF on Mooncakes from 30-year old Traditional Pastry King in Singapore @ $25 ONLY! sign from Level 1 (After finishing lunch at Jack's Place) compared to normal price as $35.80.I found that I quite lucky because I knew that I had missed the chance in purchasing the coupon (PDF file) from www.bigdeal.sg on 25 August 2011.The staffs allowed us to choose from 13 flavours.Unfortunately, all the Crispy Yam with One Yolk had been sold off due to the Crispy Yam flavour is the Teochew Flaky mooncake.Among all, I found that the best mooncakes from Yang Hua Cake House in this season are Durian Lotus Seed Paste with One Yolk 榴槤莲蓉单璜 and Snow Skin Lotus Double Yolks, 繼續閱讀

Yang Hua Cake house started in 1997. Various types of delicacies are sold here such as teo chew lard biscuits, mooncakes, sweet and salted tau sar piahs, 'old mama' cake, etc. I think I would rather choose to eat their biscuits and pastries than their kuehs. The kueh (as shown in my photo) looks nice but rather too sweet. Would be great if they can reduce their sugar when making their kuehs. My favourite will still be their salted tau sar piahs! My verdict: 6/10 繼續閱讀
