Three cheers for those who live in the Eastern side of SIngapore! No longer do they have to travel to the central area in order to have a taste of Ah Loy Thai (eh, actually it isn't that far if you walk from Bugis to the one at Shaw). Ah Loy Thai's less-popular branch in Tampines taste exactly the same, but perhaps due to a slower turnover in non-peak hours, may not be as good (in my opinion?). The ever so popular Phad Thai (Price: $5.50). delicious and chewy! Squeeze the lime over it as it makes all the difference it can in the world. The prawns are extremely fresh, like as if it's a LIVE catch.
Powerpack Tom Yum, spicy and sour, a true local taste that would remind of our home country whenever we go overseas *grins*. I never realized that Tom Yum is also one of the tasteful delights of Thai, and the tomato that was in the Tom Yum was really delicious! There were an abundance of ingredients as well, a definite must try!
Thai Glass noodles, for the hungry and weary soul. The glass noodles, although not-so-good looking, actually took my breath away! It leaves the kind of after-taste in your mouth so it's great to order a thai ice tea to wash down the taste ($2.90).
As a side-dish, we ate thai mango fried chicken; well basically it's just mango pieces with fried chicken. i thought it'd be like special marinated chicken that tastes sorta like mango but no... so yeah, quite special since thai is usually with pineapples (i associate that fruit with them).
