Located at the Rochester Park, 1-Caramel has a very cosy setting. The tiny restaurant is featured in a lot of magazines, and you would see the framed articles hung up on the wall. Impressive. For the main, there are four choices. Croque Monsieur is basically a toasted brioche, filled with ham and tomato, and topped with creamy bechamel sauce. It tasted very yummy at first yet turned a little sinful at the last few bites due to the creamy sauce. But the salad did a pretty good balancing job here.
Egg benedict with smoked salmon was perfectly done. The poached eggs had the runny yolks, and the sauce gave a beautiful flavour. The home fries were crispy outside yet starchy inside, yum!
For the mini cake, we get to choose from the bar. There are so many choices, each and every single of them look tasty!
We finally decided on getting Mango mascapone and Hazelnut praline. The mango cheesecake tasted a bit sour, but hazelnut praline is an A+. It is so rich, and the texture is creamy smooth. A great finish of a simple lunch!
