Chong Pang Food Centre turned out to be a lot smaller than I envisioned, but no matter. There's plenty of stalls and food here to try. I ordered a chicken congee at only $2.50 -Get this: It was chock full of fresh chicken meat, had a good amount of shallots+ spring onion, you tiao, and it cost under $3. Remarkable! The congee was silky-smooth and thick, and it was really tasty. You can add how much soy sauce and pepper you want so in a way you get to control the saltiness of your porridge. The ingredients are fresh and the whole bowl is so good that I polished it off within minutes -I might add that the portion is also sizeable given its price! Yishun is really far for me, but if I'm ever, ever in the area, I'm totally heading down for some porridge.
