A vintage style cafe well hidden at Arab street, this place is adorned with many posters and items from the older days in Singapore. Dong Po Colonial cafe is known to sell traditional pastries using recipes from 1950s and 1960s. Though I must say I have no idea what cakes from 1950/1960s looked like, the cupcakes and pastries in the display counter look simple enough and nothing too fancy like the cupcakes we see today. I packed a box of pastries for takeaway and they include chocolate twirl cup

I packed a box of pastries for takeaway and they include chocolate twirl cupcake, pineapple tart, almond macaroon tart and the coconut tart. Each item costs between $1.70 - $1.90.
In all, I am pleased to find such a traditional bakery cafe with quality pastries at affordable prices and I wouldn't mind coming back again to do a takeaway of their unique and yummy pastries.
