You might be wondering what exactly is Wagashi. Wagashi is a traditional Japanese confectionery served with tea. The most common types are those made of fruits, azuki bean paste and fruits.I was delighted to come across them when shopping for CNY goodies at Takashimaya. I was in dilemma in choosing what i most wanted as there are a wide range of varieties. I ended up getting a box of 20 pieces of Hakutoumochi for $25.00. You can choose to have 12 pieces for $20.00 too. Hakutoumochi is a Wagashi

Hakutoumochi is a Wagashi made of sweet white peach paste wrapped with soft rice cake.
The filling has gotten a nice peach taste at the right level of sweetness wrapped in a layer of soft mochi. Each one is of a bite sized at $1.25 for such a delicate piece.
This is no doubt an enjoyable snack but an expensive one, too.
