Don't be surprise if you spotted a long queue at the Hwa Yuen Porridge Store! Proudly rated 'A' for their hygiene, they offer good quality porridge (I'd consider it as congee).With great service, the store is tended by three people who are attentive to their customers' needs.We ordered a Set B porridge (Shredded Chicken Century Egg Porridge + Ikan Parang Raw Fish) for only $4.50! The raw fish was unlike the colour that you see in the picture, it's pale color makes me felt sickly,so I had to close my eyes to enjoy the taste which was quite delicious and soft. Squeeze half a portion of lime
and I guess it's the reason why It had no foul smell!
Lettuce, chilli have also been given as a combination with the fish to make the dish look nicer.
The porridge was scrumptious! It was very smooth that you cannot feel the rice grains in your mouth at all, in fact,it is comparable to Crystal Jade's congee. The portion may look small in the picture but it was actually quite filling.
