Blisshouse is tucked away (and when I say tucked away, I really mean tucked away into a corner only accessible by a particular escalator) on the third floor of Central at Clarke Quay. I had noticed negative feedback on this place but I must say my dining experience was a fantastic one! The restaurant is really huge, decorated with whitewash arches and windowframes, rose vines adorning the wall panels, white lamps overhanging, and get this: the entire place is carpeted with grass. Well, carpeted

I had noticed negative feedback on this place but I must say my dining experience was a fantastic one! The restaurant is really huge, decorated with whitewash arches and windowframes, rose vines adorning the wall panels, white lamps overhanging, and get this: the entire place is carpeted with grass. Well, carpeted grass, but stiill! The staff ushered us to a table and generally made us feel very comfortable. They even told us about the 15% promotion in May where all you have to do is 'like' their facebook page
Super friendly, and the service was actually much better than other restaurants we visited recently!

The space is big enough for corporate events or maybe even a small wedding. The lighting is kind of dim though, so excuse the poor lighting in my photos especially for the food. It was too dark to be seen without flash, and it just didn't look appetising with the flash. :/ We ordered a Mushroom Alfredo ($20) and a Red Snapper ($32) and well, the prices here aren't cheap. It ranges from $20-$28 for a pasta and the mains start from $28 for the duck confit and can go up to $30-40 for a steak or fish.

The Red Snapper came in a tomato puree topped with greens and olives, served with a side of mashed potato. I didn't really like the fishy taste and in my opinion, I can make better mashed potato x). But still, the fish was fresh and my dining companion liked the tomato sauce it was served in. His main grouse was that it wasn't worth the price of $32 given that the portion wasn't exactly filling. -3/5

My mushroom alfredo -I have very little complaints. The sauce wasn't too thick, nor creamy. Just the way I liked it. It had a lovely mushroom flavour that I didn't tire of even after polishing the whole plate. The shaved cheese provided a nice touch to the entire dish. I'm not really sure how authentic the pastas here are, but it's of a decent standard. This dish has no meat btw, but it compensates with lots of fresh mushroom. For $20, it's really worth it compared to eating a fish/steak ^^. (Tip: The vegetarian pasta is $18 if you were wondering) -3.5/5

The service is decent, and I certainly liked the ambience. It wasn't loud and noisy like any other restaurant on a Friday night. It combined the subtle charm of a garden setting with a modern flair. I doubt you'd have to make reservations though, but you might want to check if there's an event going on before dropping by. Our total bill came up to $61.20.
