A very traditional shop under the HDB block, and is located about a 10 minutes walk from the MRT station. The place sells a huge range of old school cakes and kuehs. The place sells a huge range of old school cakes and kuehs. All looks super yummy but without any price tags around. I try asking the uncle manning the counter, but he is not so friendly in answering me back.
Kueh Dadar ($3.50/box )It is known as Sweet Nonya Pancake Roll.
It is pandan flavoured crepe, with coconut filling. What is unique here is that the filling is white in colour, instead of the usual brown coloured. It has a melt in the mouth texture. One of the best which I ever have.
Lemper Ayam ($1.20/ piece)It is a an Indonesian dish made of glutinous rice filled with chicken. The meat filling is rolled inside the rice, and in turn rolled and wrapped inside a banana leaf.
Interestingly it has a soft and sweet taste.
Ladies Fingers ($4/ box)An interesting pastry filled with hazelnut filling. It has a light and sponge cake like texture.
Overall the snacks are very tasty and unique.
