Tonight I am invited to an event at suntec city outlet of Soup Spoon, which will be introducing the new Spain Souper Inspirations soups at tonite's Spanish Night with Souper Chef Anna. The place is packed to the maximum. We are treated to a wonderful dance performance by a group of trio dancers from Rose Borromeo Spanish Dance Company. It is so exciting that even passerbys stop and take pictures of their performance.The event is graced by Chancellor Daniel Guiscafré from the Spain Embassy.Chef A
(CATALAN CHICKEN STEW WITH PRUNES)

Marinated chicken thigh, chicken meatballs, chicken sausages, potatoes, carrot purée, chickpeas, green cabbage, parsnip, leek, onions, garlic, shell pasta, parsley, sage, dried prunes, cooking wine and homemade chicken stock
Topped with Salsa verde (mint, parsley, olive oil, coriander).
The soup is a very chicken soup, filled with unique version of meatballs which is very smooth in texture. The prunes lend a taste of sweetness in the soup.

Potatoes, carrots, red bell peppers, green bell peppers, leeks, eggplants, cauliflower, green beans, zucchini, spinach, button mushrooms, asparagus, tomatoes, saffron, paprika, rice, green peas, garlic, onions, cooking wine and black eyed peas
Topped with garlic aioli and lemon wedge.
The soup is like a meatless minestrone soup but filled with cute little round balls of rice.

Barramundi fish, prawns, squid, mussels, tomatoes, potatoes, chickpeas, navy beans, peppers, leek, cooking wine, onions, garlic, celery, paprika, bay leaves, thyme, parsley, almonds and homemade fish stock
Topped with garlic aioli and olive oil.
In my first mouthful, I am shocked by the spicy taste of the soup, which grows deeper as the more one drinks. The soup is filled with chunks of seafood. The only letdown is that the prawn is a bit tough due to the long cooking process. Besides the three Souper Inspiration soups, we are also treated to a series of tapas such as Spanish
Omelette with Potatoes and Onions, Garlic Prawn and Deep-fried Potatoes in Spicy Tomato Sauce
& Aioli, accompanied by Spanish wine - Cava and Sangria. I like the taste of red-colored Sangria which has fruity notes in it. We end the meal with a yummy and creamy but not too sweet Creme Brulee for dessert.
Overall it has been an enjoyable night, filled with exciting activities and delicious food.
