Kimly Seafood is located in one of the coffeeshops under a block of HDB flats. It is very convenient as the multi-storey carpark has a flight of stairs that leads directly to this coffeeshop. A zi char stall with good patronage, the coffeeshop was crowded with people eating the food from this stall. This dish was nicely deep-fried and had a generous amount of salted egg dressing. The dressing was creamy and had a nice golden-yellow consistency to it which isn’t captured in this picture. I like the dressing but the chicken was disappointing. There were a lot of fried chicken skin and for $14, it wasn’t worth it. Would like to see more chicken chunks in this dish. It’s a fun dish to order though as a snack.
The fish dish was loaded with tons of ginger, onions and spring onions. The fish slices were soft and smooth even though they were a little too thinly-sliced. No complaints about this dish—it is your typical zi char stir-fried dish. When we went there on Wednesday night, the coffeeshop was packed with patrons. Some people even had to wait for tables, which is quite rare considering this place is pretty hidden. It has a good variety of stalls though, chicken rice, fishball noodles, BBQ and western food to name a few. There is even a dim sum stall at the corner. Service at Kimly is not too bad. Servers could recommend dishes when needed and they were courteous and polite. Would come here again for zi char food and possibly to try out the other stalls.
