This is a place with excellent service. The staff kindly kept our birthday cake for us for the longest time (birthday boy got held up at work) and let us make quite a ruckus without hushing us rudely. Kudos to the great staff! Its main offering, the ramen, is pretty decent too. Of course, it does not compare to Ippudo at Mandarin Gallery, but at least you do not have to queue and you get to pay less here. Its main offering, the ramen, is pretty decent too. Of course, it does not compare to Ippudo at Mandarin Gallery, but at least you do not have to queue and you get to pay less here. There is a wide range to choose from: you get different broth, choice of different ingredients (seafood? chicken?) and how you want it done (fried? In the soup?). It does not exactly comes with steps like that, but really, the variety makes it seems like so.
My noodles were pretty well done, but were not particularly spectacular. Birthday boy’s dish of ramen with fried chicken was much better (see picture!). Another pal ordered a seafood style ramen – I did not dare try though, because it looks like tom yum. Tom yum ramen did not sound awesome to me.
All in all, we agreed that the food was pretty good. It would be worth a try if you happened to be at Somerset 313 with a budget, yet refuse to go to the food court at the upper level.
