I was recommended by a friend to check out the food at Steam Sia and I gotta say it's a worthwhile visit. Firstly, you gotta love the retro 80's feel of the decoration. Makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. The place is a little small but that adds to the "kampong" cozy feel of it. I tried a couple of dishes that night. Firstly was their signature Nonya Curry Chicken dish. The curry was thick and savory. It had a lovely bite of heat balanced with sweetness and was absolutely sumptuous

I tried a couple of dishes that night. Firstly was their signature Nonya Curry Chicken dish. The curry was thick and savory. It had a lovely bite of heat balanced with sweetness and was absolutely sumptuous when sopped up with the thick crusty bread. My mouth is drooling just thinking of it. The chicken meat was tender and practically falling off the bone. I also love their presentation using the pot. The portion was on the small side, but that just gives us more room to order more.

Next item I tried was the Poached Salmon with Fruit Salsa. The warm salmon was salty and cooked just about right, and when paired with the sweet fruit salsa, it was a flavor party in my mouth. It was a nice twist to what could be a plain ol' salmon.

Love the nostalgic items on display. Especially the recorder! Brings me back to my school days.

If you're around the neighborhood, do pop by Steam Sia for a bite. Enjoy the good food with a cold pint, and have some fun Instagram moments.
