As a kid, Swensen's was always the restaurant of choice. Though I might have outgrown Swensen's in the past couple of years, it was still great to walk in to Swensen's at ION Orchard the other day to order classics that I grew up with.
The Chicken Baked Rice was as good as I remembered, tender chunks of chicken embedded across the dish, with melted cheese atop the rice. Pure savoury goodness. Yum! Only gripe was the price - at $13.90, it is a far cry when i last ordered the dish at a simple $9.90. Ouch!
At the time of my visit, Swensen's was having a lunch promotion of a free sundae with every main course ordered. I just couldn't let up on the chance at a Sticky Chewy Chocolate sundae. 2 scoops of Sticky Chewy Chocolate ice cream coated lavishly with hot fudge and sprinkled with Hershey's Chocolate Chips and a chocolate wafer to boot.
While there might be better tasting meals and ice cream out there, this lunch promotion is really hard to beat. So do hurry down!
