Has the congee standard increase or my expectations isn't high? Since when it started the trend of serving 1 stick of you tiao with congee? Fried you tiao with congee seems very hong kong style as i remembered having it in HK many years back. I'm a century egg porridge person but i decided to try the fish congee out. Congee is smooth and thick, crispy you tiao being dipped in the thick congee is yummy! as the you tiao is crispy, it won't turn soggy so fast.
I would prefer shredded ginger in my fish congee and it would somehow or rather remove the fishy smell and lower risk of stomach wind.
