2 new restaurants opened up in this basement 3 area, one is Nara Thai, the other is Itacho. If i'm not wrong, they actually replaced the former premises of burger king. Decided to give Nara Thai a try after hearing that this brand name actually originates from Bangkok and highly rated. 1st impression of the place is its nicely decorated with a huge wall feature decoration and nicely shaped lamps hanging overhead. The corner seats all comes with high backing. The menu is a grid like display of all the dishes, not common but it does attach each item with a photo, makes it easier to visualize what the potential food likes. The servers are divided between the host/hostess and the servers. The host will take the orders via a iPad mini. I was thinking why dun come up with a menu on the iPad and let the customer check and pick the item themselves. And immediately let them have a heads-up of the total bill. That actually can be a cool idea.

I ordered Tom Yum Kung $19.90 (comes with prawns and straw mushroom in spicy lemongrass lime soup, the prawns are big i must say), Thai Fish Cake $13.90 (6 slices, with peanut sweet chilli sauce), massaman gai $15.90 (more of a sweet curry, and i found peanuts inside like those braised peanuts, interesting), green curry with chicken (the gravy goes very well with the fragrant rice), crab meat omelette $12.90 (comes with chilli sauce, nice texture with the crab meat minced) and Stir Fried seasonal vegeatbles with oyster sauce $10.90 (really good mix of vegetable, just that qty a bit small). For me the tom yum kung and green curry impressed me most. If i have to gripe, its probably the waiting time for the dishes to arrive, i had my dishes served minutes apart so that makes sharing dining a bit of a challenge. Also a suggestion for them is not to have the plate on the table from the start since they are serving by the plate (like the rice and individual portion mains) so that makes it a little redundant. I'm certainly keen to return for another tasting especially the interesting desserts on their menu.

There's currently a 10% promotion going on now. So it works out to be $23 per pax for me.
