For a seafood restaurant, the Pelican seems to be an odd name. What does a type of bird have to do with lobsters, crabs, and mussels, right? But for those of you who are not familiar with them, they actually represent a person’s homecoming. During the old days of seafarers and voyagers, the bird would symbolise their way back home after a long trip on the high seas.
What does one usually do when someone who’s been gone a long time has arrived? Well, of course some good ‘ol comfort food would be waiting for them. That’s how the concept of The Pelican Seafood Bar and Grill came about. With the aim of recreating this experience today, diners will be spoilt for choice with a whole array of fresh seafood imported from all over the world (US, Canada, etc.). One good example is the Pelican Seafood Platter ($99/ serves 2 to 3 pax), which consists of raw oysters clams, Dungeness crab, poached prawns, steamed whole Maine lobster, marinated conch salad, and swordfish cerviche.
