I was a little surprised when there was no queue and no customer right at this stall when i was there this morning. This is another popular stall in this food centre with very long queue particularly during weekends. My usual favorite are the Kong Bak Pau and Char Siew Pau. I came here once on a Sunday and after queued up for about 25 minutes or so, one of their assistants shouted all the Kong Bak Pau were sold out. I decided to take away 2 boxes with 10 Kong Bak Pau and 10 Char Siew Pau in each box. Each pau is 0.60 cents and i paid $24.00 in total for 40 of them.
The Kong Bak Pau tasted a little too dry this round. The main reason for so might be the pork used was rather lean for healthy reason. The health conscious ones might choose to stay away if the meat used is too fatty.
Their char siew pau has always been one of my favorite. The char siew filling has gotten a nice sweet taste and rather moist.
All their Pau are very small in sizes. You can still eat 2 or more even after having a full meal. I always have them refrigerated and to steam it again when i want to eat it for breakfast or for snack.
