The store is the 4th store on the right from the main entrance. Heard from a friend who studies in Ngee Ann Poly that the fish soup bee hoon is nice so decided to head down one Saturday afternoon for lunch. The store has a variety of different staple. the usual thick and thin bee hoon and ee-fu noodle. & the not so usual macaroni, maggi mee. Ordered the usual thick fried fish bee hoon with milk and XO. Ordered the usual thick fried fish bee hoon with milk and XO. The store owner is very cheerful. He kept saying chinese XO = hua diao jiu. & even ask if we want to get drunk.. LOL.
Soup: Flavourful but needs more XO aka 花雕酒 (hua diao jiu).Noodle: Springy and tends to get starchy as the meal carries on.
Fried fish: Not crispy as it was probably fried some time ago. no fishy taste so it was quite alright.
Other ingredients: There were some strands of vegetable. you can add more vegetables or bitter gourd for additional $0.50.. Fried shallots are optional.
Overall, I won't purposely head down to eat the fish soup as I can get nicer ones outside.
