Minori offers only two types of fried rice, namely, eel fried rice and garlic fried rice. I decided to try the garlic fried rice since I've never seen it before. The fried rice wasn't too oily and was a relatively big portion. Personally, I think they were pretty stingy with the eggs but it is actually enough. I highly recommend the garlic fried rice. It is worth trying but it may depend on your personal preference as to whether you'll like it or not b/c although I loved it, my friend didn't as he found the garlic taste too overwhelming.

I was dining at Minori with a friend who is obsessed with salmon so naturally, he wanted to try the grilled salmon. The grilled salmon was actually pretty good. I initially thought it is too dry when I saw it but it was surprisingly moist on the inside. Additionally, the sweet soy sauce goes extremely well with it. The sweet soy sauce was sweet but not too sweet and it didn't have a salty taste at all. I highly recommend the grilled salmon! Do give it a try!

My friend absolutely loves raw salmon so we decided to share a plate of raw salmon belly. The salmon belly is probably the best part of a salmon. It also happens to be the most oily part of the salmon. The raw salmon served was very fresh and soft. It'd literally melt in your mouth. I didn't take the raw salmon that well so I decided to shower it with a lot of lemon juice and it turned out pretty well. I was able to finish my share of the salmon belly. I'd recommend those who don't handle raw salmon well to do that too. It is better than wasting it. Plus it is pretty good when topped with lemon juice.

I'm the kind who'd leave the chicken skin for the last and eat them all at one go so I was thrilled to find they Minori sells fried chicken skin. Without hesitation, I decided to give it a try and it was definitely a good decision. The fried chicken skin had a thin crispy outer layer and the skin itself was crispy! There's isn't much to the actual taste of chicken skin since it was just like any other chicken skin. I do recommend eating it with lemon though but don't squeeze too much lemon juice

My friends and I were feeling adventurous so we ordered for the Yaki Tori Hatsu, which is grilled chicken hearts. It did take me some convincing to try the hearts. It was actually very oily on the outer layer and they should probably try to cut down on the oil. The chicken heart itself was very soft and tender and surprisingly delicious. I can't exactly describe the taste of it but it tastes kind of like just chicken meat. It'll be good to try but I wouldn't try it a second time b/c I'm not a bi

Minori offers a wide variety of sashimi and my friends and I couldn't decide which to order for so we ordered the sashimi moriwase (assorted raw seafood). It consists of tuna, salmon, octopus, prawns etc. The seafood are generally fresh and were all tasty. The salmon in particular is outstanding. I didn't really like the octopuses though. They were pretty dry for some reason. Overall, the sashimi platter is perfect for sashimi lovers. There's a large variety of seafood in it, also, it is a pretty

It was my first time dining at Minori and I decided to try their soft shell crab. The soft shell crab was pretty disappointing. It was a little too dry for my liking and didn't taste fresh. The soft shell crab was very weak tasting so it was kind of like eating tasteless meat covered with oily crusts. Out of so many Japanese restaurants' soft shell crabs I've tried, this definitely wasn't the best.

Sashimi is the main reason why I chose Minori. I am 'desperate' for sashimi and I want lots of shashimi. I chose quantity over quality. A poor woman can't afford to choose much. I have plates and plates of shashimi, especially salmon sashimi. I must have had irritated the servers that before I sit down, I already ordered a shashimi moriwase ;pOverall, the food are pretty average. And since my motive is sashimi, I only have had small bites on the other food and thus not able to comment much ;) In

Overall, the food are pretty average. And since my motive is sashimi, I only have had small bites on the other food and thus not able to comment much ;) In conclusion, Minori is a good place for those who want some slightly above average sashimi and a wide variety of Japanese food to tide their cravings.

I was at Shin Minori on 27/2/2011 to celebrate my birthday with my wife and son.

Restaurant was pretty full as it was dinner time at about 7pm. We started to order via different sheet of paper which categorized the food into four different categories. The orders of about 15 dishes were taken by the waiter who passes it to another waitress at the counter for keying in into their "online" order system. Shashimi arrived within first 20 mins of the order. After 2 hours, less that 50% of the food was served. Some of the orders were lost or went missing or went to another table. We questioned them and they told us that it was coming.

Services have dropped and the waiter and waitress were not attentive at all.

And that was one particular incident which i can't forgot. I ordered 3 garlic fried rice. One came. The second one came 25 mins later. When I questioned the waiter on the 3rd bowl, he told me that one bowl consist of 2 servings??!! WTH is this? Do you think we should pay the full price?

Not only we were affected. Diners from other tables were also facing the same problem. Some diners left in dismay and disappointed. Another group of diners, who were also celebrating a birthday approach the waitress to tell her that they are only prepared to pay 50% of the cost as less that 50% of the food arrived. I told the waitress the same thing as well as I am facing the same problem. Goodness, such things can happen to a well known Japanese restaurant. I only found out later that the management of the restaurant had changed.

Calling all diners out there. Please consider before you come to this restaurant.
