Finally found a presentable cake shop in Bugis area after walking around for so long. After looking through the cakes in the display shelf, I decided that the Zesti Cheesecake is the best looking one. There aren't many selections available either. If I didn't remember wrongly, this costs $6.50 a slice.

The service is nice and polite at the counter. When I asked for a candle, the staff kindly obliged and wrapped the cake nicely. As I had to transport the cake for some distance, I asked for an additional paper bag to contain the cake. The staff explained that TCC doesn't have any bag (not sure if it is true) and that the cake carrier is sufficient.

The sponge part of the cake is really light and fluffy. The cream part of the cake is not too cloying. There were also thin layers of the cream, cheese and strawberry between the cake, which I thought was really nice. Though I don't think the cake is too fancy nor big to be priced at beyond $5, it is still quite presentable for a birthday celebration.

This is the one dish that I will order when I'm at TCC - the Shroom Bites! Lovely conical pastries stuffed with piping hot mushroom sauce/gravy. Not sure what is the right term. Always buttery and flaky, this is a good side dish to share with your dining companions. It must be eaten hot so don't delay too long after it arrives on your table. If you like some heat, sprinkle some chili powder over it.

The whole combination for the tobiko scallop pasta goes well together! I just wish they can give me more scallops and it be even more perfect! Haha.

And since i'm using my birthday discount of 50%, i decided to get a drink as well. I also tried another new item which is Honey Citrus Fizz which was really nice and refreshing. Great way to end my meal and just chit chat with my friend =)

The Dessert Prince Jr. loves to conduct his private tea sessions at TCC. Like royalties we have always been, we picked our little corner and commence our private session...
We royalties do not like to wait and the cakes came promptly. Although I prefer my drinks to come first but at least they served us plain water before hand

All hail the King! His Majesty The Royal Pumpkin Chessecake ($5.40). Cheesecake that's infused with delightful sweet pumpkin strands hidden within. We just couldn't stop singing praises of His Majesty!

The Mango Diva ($5.60). Goddess of my revered fruit. Simplistic vanilla shortcakes glamorize with sweet mango mousse. I prefer diva to be in sliced form to the cuppa one. It's just a personal preference.

Iced Cappuccino ($6.90) was what Jr. choose. He love the coffee as much as he love white foam.

Usually, the Chocolate of Wealth is what I would opt for but ever since I started blogging, I feel the need to try out new stuffs instead of sticking to my personal comfort food. Or else, I would bore all of you to death!

In this case, the Strawberry Espresso Dream ($8.30) was something unfamiliar. Marshmallows and strawberry sauce is what caught my eyes. The bitterness from the strong espresso meets the sweetness from the strawberry drink. It's almost like a dream. A bittersweet dream but more on the sweeter aftertaste.

For drinks I ordered twice, Raspberry Orange Iced Tea and Lychee Jazz. The Raspberry tea was good...it is a mixture of raspberry and orange juice with cubes of nata de coco at the bottom...very nice, and I loved the presentation
. The Lychee jazz on the other hand was a disappointment....it was a tasteless soda with 2pcs of canned lychees in it...it definitely didn't jazz up my taste buds, I couldn't even finish it

I ordered a different salad to try today...Kimchi Prawn Salad..it was delish! The kimchi prawns were very well marinated and the greens was refreshing...pleasant start to a meal.

For main dish, I picked the Ocean Sur'fin which I raved about during my previous visit. It tasted good but portion kinda shrank a little...different chef maybe? Nevertheless, I still enjoyed this dish...fish is still fresh and cooked well and the citrus sauce didn't disappoint.

Our usual practice of ordering appetizers for sharing...this time we chose Potato Wedges w/ Melted Cheese Dip and Mentaiko Shrimp Martini (our all time fave). The potato wedges was nicely done...crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. I'm not a fan of cheese dips so no comments on that. The Shrimp martini met our expectations as usual...I wished Openrice has a thumbs-up icon I could add here!

And last but not least I ordered a new dessert to try...Puffy Triplets, three profiteroles with rich chocolate ice-cream atop a fine almond-espresso financier. The puffs and ice cream were good accept the espresso brownie cake at the bottom was pretty hard and dry. Overall still a good sweet treat

Service today was unusually slow, we were being informed of a likely long wait for food of at least 20mins for main dishes. We had a change of tables and I guess the serving staffs got confused and delivered the dishes to the wrong table a couple of times. I had to place order with the same guy twice to get my second drink. They keyed in one Clam chowder instead of two we ordered. And, my friend's 'medium rare' steak arrived 'well done' and she had to request for a change and waited for another 20mins. Hmm not so good...

After it was being served again, it is still not "medium rare", but "medium" .. still not what i expected, but the taste was good & the portion was just right. It was served with BBS sauce & some fried ginger on top.

Other food items we ordered were pretty good & still maintains the usual food standard. For pictures of the other food items we ordered, please visit: http://milkfrost.blogspot.sg/2013/05/tcc-bugis-junction.html

Have always liked to go to TCC for tea, good environment and friendly staff. Decided to try their mains this time round. They have a wide variety of mains, pasta, salad, etc. I ordered the Pan-seared Fish w/ Lemongrass Scented Sauce. The fish is pan-fried and fresh, unlike your typical frozen dory fillet. Comes with small pieces of roasted potatoes which were good as well. The lemongrass sauce complemented the fish well. Overall a nice dish, but it is a little expensive compared to other western

I walked past The Connoisseur Concerto and decided to treat myself to something nice. I ordered the Iced Summer Waltz Latte priced at 7.20 before taxes. It was...forgettable but still OK if your standards are not exactly high. But at 7.20, I would really expect much better or more ingredients. The cream tasted rather fattening and the latte was quite diluted unfortunately. The entire mixture thus tasted rather bland.

Sometimes looking for a place to chill out after an evening movie can be hard since many places don't serve food so late. But thankfully, TCC isn't one of them! I like there desserts and there are desserts aplenty for those with a sweet tooth! Zestiny is a refreshing one with Lime Parfait topped with raspberries and puffs and sticks of meringue. If that sounds too sweet for you, try the Cappuccino Cheesecake Dream for that bitter-sweet coffee hit!

Decided to go for tea at TCC. First time trying their salad, I chose the Crayfish salad, which tastes better than it looks. The salad sauce was well prepared and the bits of crayfish were fresh, the amount was also acceptable. Had some tea to go with it, don't think one can ever go wrong with chamomile tea. The good thing was that they will be able to refill hot water once you've finished, allowing you to enjoy more of the tea.

I was first served with a cup of coffee(you can also choose tea) which is included in the set. The food arrive not long after. In anti-clockwise direction starting from the top right corner is a beef salad. Despite the small bowl, almost half of it was filled with juicy beef slices, while the rest was salad that is drizzled with a tangy sauce that totally cuts away the bitterness of the rocket salad leaf. I really like its refreshing taste and generous serving of beef.

Next to it are 2 scones, one chocolate chip and the other raisin flavour. Both were baked hot, with a crispy crumbly outer surface and moist buttery inside. Accompanied with the cream and strawberry jam served, they were the best scone i have tasted(according to my tastebuds).

Here comes the adorable creation in this easter-inspired high tea set!

The white 'bunny' beside the cream/jam is an orange cupcake with dessicated coconut frosting. Chocolate are used to create the ears and face of the bunny. It was served quite cold, so the cake was to dense to my liking. However, the flavour are quite well-combined.

The bottom left hand corner is a mango mousse cake, with a sponge cake base. What is so special about it is the 'sunny-side up' on top, made up using white chocolate and a mango gelee. The whole cake is really full of refreshing mango flavour.

Beside it is a crispy kataifi nest and a passionfruit macaron 'chick'. I have looked forward to this macaron 'chick' the most when i saw their advertisement, and it does satisfy me so much i wish there is one more of it!

Lastly, the savoury turkey ham and egg mayo tortilla roll helps cut away all the sweetness. The tortilla skin is really soft and all the ingredient complement very well. I love it!

Nice high tea set good for all occasion, be it chilling out with friends or simply when you need some mood booster!

Chocolate latte . Yes, it's called chocolate latte rather than latte chocolate because of the generous amount of chocolate in it! I guess people who don't really enjoy chocolate and sweet taste will not like this but I love it! Good combination of the what perhaps ratio of 4:1 of chocolate and latte

TCC actually serves not bad food, okie i guess by this statement it goes to show that i didnt use to fancy TCC food and in fact I dont have very high expectations when it comes to TCC. Anyway judging by this photos, well you could probably assume that the food is good, yes it is as good as it looks! I dont have an impression of the cheesy baked thingy that my friend had. But I love my salmon, sunny side up spaghetti. It is good, it looks good taste good! Lovely, abit of a east and west fusion!
