I love my chicken cutlet very crispy! And both north and south canteen have very crispy chicken cutlet offerings for about $3 or so! I added spaghetti thinking it was a side dish but I was so wrong! Total was $4!! I felt like I was cheated since the uncle asked if I wanted pasta but I didn't know it was considered a main dish not a side dish! Today having Chicken Chop ($2.00) as it looks more freshly made. I also selected 2 sides (additional 2 X $0.60) coleslaw and fried rice. So total costs $3.20. The chicken chop seems to have reduced in size a lot, but still juicy and tender. The fried rice is rather dry and cold. The coleslaw is also too dry for me and abit too much vinegar. I would like more dressing for it.

The stall is very crowded today. I have planned to order chicken cutlet as main ($2) and 2 sides ($0.60 each) - coleslaw and creamy pasta. But the uncle taking my order made it a 2 mains dish for me. I tried the fish and chips. I must say that the appearance looks pretty good. Like the batter is fried very well and is crispy and golden brown. The issue with it is probably my personal preference. I kinda felt that the fish is under-cooked cos the flesh is not exactly the powdery white flesh but instead sort of half translucent yet with tinge of white. The other complaint is that the flesh is very thin. Too thin! I think I eat more of the batter than the fish. Then again, if you like the crisp

I like north canteen's western food.It is cheap and tasty.I like the mushroom sauce.It is nice.The fish is abit salty,but stil nice for me.Although the mashed potato is not as nice as outside one,i stil lik it.The spaghetti salad is nice,a bit cold,sweet and tasty.The softness of the spaghetti is just right.The chicken is nicer than the fish.It is tasty,plus soft.I would like to try other side dish.Exp:french fries,fried rice..Also can top up for $0.8 to add bread and mushroom.

grilled chicken ($3.2)grillled fish fillet ($3.2)portion was rather small. The chicken is nicer than the fish. The chicken is tender and nicely fried. The fish was over seasoned and too salty. The sides are nice, but again the portion was pathetic. The pasta salad is refreshing but still Aston's one better. The mashed potato is too moist, i dont like the watery potato.

I seldom eat western food so i give it another try.The portion is actually quite small, but in the end we feel 80% full.Food was quite nice, reasonable price too.

During lunch one weekday, my friends and i decided to drop by North canteen at Nanyang polytechnic for a quick lunch. I ordered the chicken chop at the western food stall and the queue was crazy! I had to wait for 20 mins to my order done.For my side dishes, i choose to have the fried rice and the mash potato. The mash potato was pretty ordinary and the fried rice was way too hard! However, the chicken was pretty good, and the meat was soft and tender, a pity it was a bit small though!

North Canteen in located in the north side of Nanyang Poly, catering to mostly Health Science and Business Students. Since we wanted to have a quick lunch that day, my friends and I settled for a meal at north canteen. Had the western food set, where you'd choose your main dish with 2 sides. I had the grilled chicken chop with spaghetti and mashed potato. Overall it's acceptable, a little like mashed baby food but still edible. Value for money for its generous serving.
