Famous Curry Chicken Rice Smile Aug 30, 2011

Categories : Singaporean Chinese

For those who frequent Queensway Shopping Centre wouldn't have missed out this stall selling Curry Chicken with Rice. In fact, the only eatery inside this shopping centre is either Curry Chicken Rice or Katong Laksa or MacDonald.

Their curry chicken is definitely worth the title of being the Famous Curry Chicken in Queensway. Thick coconut curry gravy matches with plain rice and large chunks of potatoes and Chicken Wings, it's just makes me feels hungry thinking about it. Thumbs up.

Fondly in Love with Ke Ai Ji Smile Aug 30, 2011

Categories : Coffeeshop

Presenting the most popular bbq chicken rice around in Clementi. I dare say nearly 1/3 of the people in the coffee shop is eating from this stall as Chicken is a hot favourite among Singaporeans. The length of the queue sometime can get quite long but the waiting time is short as there's usually 3-4 staff inside to help.

Though the sign board mentioned Golden Rooster, this stall is most commonly known as Ke AI Ji (adorable chicken). Its' BBQ chicken is tender and juice with their sauce that gives the chicken it's unique taste. I always add one extra coleslaw to complete my meal. Delicious!

Yum Yum Chili Crab Sub  Smile Aug 30, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Fast Food | Burgers and Sandwiches

Chili crab is an iconic dish in Singapore and Subway has cleverly added this to it's menu and it's called the Chili Crab Sub. I've always considered Subway a healthier choice when it comes to the many Fast Food Restaurant available. Not only we can choose the type of bread we can also add on the vegetables toppings.

For my Chili Crab Sub, I've picked the Italian bread as I'm not quite a fan of those oats and wheat bread. Also added the four vegetables - Tomatoes, Lettuce, Capsicum and cucumber. After that I also agreed to add on the cheese. When it comes to the topping, I asked the staff over at the counter to recommend what topping I should choose and she actually told me none would be better. I heed her advice and check out my Chili Crab Sub happily.

The overall impression of my Chili Crab sub is that I love it to bites! It's nutrients enough with the veggies, cheese, bread and tasty enough with the chili crab toppings. I can now understand why the staff advice me not to add on topping as only this way, I can truly savour the chili crab sauce. Of course it's just fake crab meat with a dose of chili sauce and can't really compared to those chili crab in a seafood restaurant but it's something that is affordable and can be eaten often. Thumbs up for Subway! lol

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Hawker Centre | Chinese Soup | Claypot Rice

New Lucky Claypot RIce is best known for their tasty claypot rice that is cooked using gas at first before transferring to the claypot to be cooked using the charcoal fire. This is the place I always recommend to my friends whenever they come to Clementi. We all know it's not easy to find hawker still using charcoal to cook anymore. During peak period, expect to wait a good 40 minutes for their claypot rice. Usually, if I'm eating with my parents like today, I would give them a call to order first and went down to find seat later. This helps to save a lot of time waiting there.

The rice has such a nice aroma and we have the freedom to add in the desired amount of sesame oil and dark soy sauce as the oil and dark soy sauce are provided to us before the rice arrived. At the bottom of the claypot would be some brunt rice for those who liked it crispy but it's rather unhealthy to eat those brunt rice. The chicken, and Chinese sausage are both tender and juicy. There's also salted fish added inside to add some flavours. We also ordered addition of Xiao Bai Cai and Black Chicken soup for a healthier choice.

A note to add, this stall would be relocating to Holland Drive in September. It also meant that next time I would have one less food to recommend when my friends came over my area.

awfully nice chocolate dessert Smile Aug 28, 2011

Categories : Desserts and Cakes

Chocolate is said to be able to stimulates the production of endorphin which are hormones that make ones feel good. Thus, it's really nice when I got a chocolate cake from awfully chocolate. Looks like vanilla ice-cream on top of the cake but it's actually peppermint cream. Yes, that's a lot of cream. The chocolate cake is heavenly. It's rich in the chocolate taste yet moist and light.

In conclusion, their cakes are although a bit on the expensive side but are sinfully delightful to the taste buds.
