QQ Soya Beancurd Smile Mar 19, 2013

Was on my way home after a movie at NEX shopping mall and walked through the bus interchange and walked past this stall. The friendly staff was promoting their beancurd and I saw having walked past here quite a few times, I was quite interested in trying it out. The lady introduced their product to me and told me how it was different from other beancurds because they don't use coffee-mate in their products, and is purely from soya beans. I decided to try it out so bought one home.

Beancurd was really silky and "melted" once it reaches my mouth, a really pleasant feeling as I tasted each mouthful. Have never heard of this brand before and it is definitely comparable to the much hyped Lao Ban Soya Beancurd. QQ Soya Beancurd is not too sweet and I can really taste the soya beans in it with every mouth. They also offer beancurd in almond flavour and I will definitely try it out next time!

Service wise, I think the people are really friendly and they exude a positive attitude, always smiling to potential customers even though most people just walk past without looking at them. That's the way to do business! (Y)

New Mos Burger!  Smile Mar 16, 2013

Tried out the new Mustard Chicken Burger at mos burger and was pleasantly surprised by it rich taste. The mustard was not too overpowering and I could taste the marination on the chicken as well. Chicken was tender and juicy and the burger is considered large compared to a standard mos burger size! Root salad inside the burger didn't really complement the whole taste and texture so I ate them separately, but the root salad was nice - crunchy and tasty.

Side dish was a curry croquette which was not very satisfying to me this time round. It was not hot even though they placed the "Caution: HOT"" sticker label on it, and it was almost as if it was cold. Taste wise was just average and not a must try.

Upzised my drink to the large size and requested for eight tubs of milk! Mos burger milk tea is really nice, and even without the milk it tastes heavenly too. The fragrant taste of tea is strong but not too bitter.

Kabe no Ana Smile Mar 15, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Pasta

It was crowded in NEX on a Saturday night and almost all the restaurants and food places had ridiculously long queues. Kabe no Ana was the few which didn't have any queue and it is located in a quiet little corner of NEX. They sell mostly pasta and I didn't really like pasta so ordered this salmon sashimi salad instead. Portion was average but the taste was awesome. It comes with some special sauce for you to dip your salad greens in, but without it the salad still taste sweet. Except for the purple leaves (sorry don't know what it's called) which are really bitter and best eaten with the sauce. Wrap the sashimi in between the greens to have another taste of the salmon and salad together!

Umi sushi - Arizona Tea!  Smile Mar 15, 2013

One of the reasons I love umisushi is because they have Arizona tea! This is really hard to find in Singapore and so far only seen it in umi sushi and some other Japanese food town. But the glass bottled ones with nice flowery design are only seen in umisushi! It's kind of pricey at $3 per bottle but the taste makes up for it all! Bought the ginseng and honey green tea and surprisingly nice, didn't have the bitter ginseng taste at all. Might sometimes be out of stock so be sure to grab yours when you see it available!

Ajisen Ramen!  Smile Mar 15, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Ramen | Kids-Friendly

Ordered scallop ramen set which come with choice of side dish and a drink. Portion of scallop given was generous! Soup was delicious, I finished every drop of it! If you like your ramen with spice, you can always ask for chilli oi and chilli pepper. Ramen came with half an egg and tou gei too.

I ordered the white fish side dish, which was a little bland but the mayo and chilli sauce was enough flavor after dipping in them. they also have gyoza, octopus and many others to choose from!

Added a hokkaido milk pudding to my order and was $1 cheaper as I had a ramen set. This milk pudding is heavenly and I urge everyone to try it!

Entire meal was really satisfying and worth the price, and I was very full from it. Yums! tongue
Service on the other hand was rather lousy as there are too little waitresses and waiters and the place was busy. Took very long for our water to come and had to ask a few times to get my chilli oil. sad There was also an arrogant waiter there whose main aim was to get people seated but ignored their needs after that.
