QQ Soya Beancurd Smile Mar 19, 2013

Was on my way home after a movie at NEX shopping mall and walked through the bus interchange and walked past this stall. The friendly staff was promoting their beancurd and I saw having walked past here quite a few times, I was quite interested in trying it out. The lady introduced their product to me and told me how it was different from other beancurds because they don't use coffee-mate in their products, and is purely from soya beans. I decided to try it out so bought one home.

Beancurd was really silky and "melted" once it reaches my mouth, a really pleasant feeling as I tasted each mouthful. Have never heard of this brand before and it is definitely comparable to the much hyped Lao Ban Soya Beancurd. QQ Soya Beancurd is not too sweet and I can really taste the soya beans in it with every mouth. They also offer beancurd in almond flavour and I will definitely try it out next time!

Service wise, I think the people are really friendly and they exude a positive attitude, always smiling to potential customers even though most people just walk past without looking at them. That's the way to do business! (Y)

Pancakes!  OK Mar 16, 2013

Categories : Singaporean

Not a fan of cheese or pancakes but was craving something salty and unhealthy and looked up the web for healthier alternatives. Some fitness guru suggested that such cravings means we need calcium and we should probably take some cheese! So decided to have to cheese pancake at Mr Bean because it was the only one I could find around my area. Probably not the healthiest alternative but better than having fried chicken!

I must say I really like the taste of the cheese pancake and I would definitely have it again some other time! Didn't want to try it since a long time ago because I never liked cheese or pancakes but this really changed my mind about Mr Bean pancakes. On the not so bright side, the amount of cheese in the pancake was quite little and was more of like a clump of cheese in the middle. If you eat it while it's hot, it might ooze to the other areas of the pancake and taste slightly better, otherwise it might harden when it gets cold.

Also tried their caramel custard pancake on another occasion, and it was really nice! Sweet but not too sweet. On the other hand, not the best quality custard out there as the texture was a little rough and not silky smooth.

New Mos Burger!  Smile Mar 16, 2013

Tried out the new Mustard Chicken Burger at mos burger and was pleasantly surprised by it rich taste. The mustard was not too overpowering and I could taste the marination on the chicken as well. Chicken was tender and juicy and the burger is considered large compared to a standard mos burger size! Root salad inside the burger didn't really complement the whole taste and texture so I ate them separately, but the root salad was nice - crunchy and tasty.

Side dish was a curry croquette which was not very satisfying to me this time round. It was not hot even though they placed the "Caution: HOT"" sticker label on it, and it was almost as if it was cold. Taste wise was just average and not a must try.

Upzised my drink to the large size and requested for eight tubs of milk! Mos burger milk tea is really nice, and even without the milk it tastes heavenly too. The fragrant taste of tea is strong but not too bitter.

Starbucks Birthday Treat OK Mar 15, 2013
Categories : American | Coffee

Birthday month! Got a free cake and redeemed my free drink from eons ago that I forgot to redeem. First time trying their drinks in hot, and I must say that the flavor is definitely more rich than when it's served cold or ice-blended. Planning to visit on a cold rainy day to enjoy another cup of hot drink from Starbucks~ This is the soy green tea latte and I LOVEEEEE the rich matcha taste of bitterness and sweetness mixed together. One bad thing is that the drink gets cold really easily (especially if it's on a cold rainy day) and doesn't taste as good after a while. Also tried their motlen lava chocolate cake and had it heated up to melt the chocolate. First few bites were really nice, but the chocolate harden after just a few moments so it wasn't as enjoyable. Chocolate is very rich and some might get sick of it after a few bites!

Service in the Bugis branch, as usual, is always good and manager there is always friendly!

Wendy's Experience OK Mar 15, 2013

Categories : American | Fast Food | Burgers and Sandwiches | Kids-Friendly

Was craving something salty and spicy (and unhealthy) so decided to drop by Wendy's for lunch. Ordered the spicy chicken burger with fries and orange juice. It is not unknown that the meat portion in Wendy's burgers are small and this was no exception. However, taste was still really good and if not for their small portions, I would definitely visit Wendy's more often. (Used to despise Wendy's since I first tried them a few years ago and this is my second visit!) Their orange juice is not bad, should totally change your soft drinks to orange juice with just 50cents. Initially wanted the baked potato but the cashier didn't let me change it. huffy Bad service attitude! He didn't allow me to complete my order then just entered everything into the system. Just managed to change my drink to orange juice right before he hit enter ):< Really pissed that day because I ordered the set to try their baked potato because heard that it is not bad... When I requested to change the fries to baked potato, the cashier just picked up the receipt and waved it at me, how rude! At least saying something along the lines of "Sorry I already entered it into the system' would have been infinitely better. Will definitely avoid such rude cashiers in future if I ever crave for something spicy and salty and unhealthy again.
