Categories : Teochew | Seafood | Zi Char

My husband was introduced by his friend to this Zi Char place that serve reasonable price food and taste fairly well so he brought me here.

I was taken aback as the place is relatively huge and very crowded even during a Monday Blue! It was the decorations that really made it outstanding - very old school but warm. A few tables were being reserved in 10 seating. I would say quite a popular spot to book table for celebration or gathering.

They don't serve curry fish head though but that's Assam Fish.

He insisted of having the Herbal Prawn ($18.00) which he claimed to be a MUST try. I felt it was okay - not the signature dish.

Prawn Paste Chicken ($8.00) not that really fragrance, just lack that little kick.

Fu Rong Egg ($6.00) very home cook feel.

Prawn Roll ($8.00) the dish that is the outstanding one among the four.

Overall: A great place still, as we are a pair and there's a limit to what we order - it will be good if you go in big group. Service wise, don't expect much.

T-one Steamboat OK Jan 30, 2013

A little Victoria Style steamboat place best for big group, there’s 2 level.

I can’t remember how much it was, I think about $25-$30 range.

They offer a wide varieties of choice, the Fu Zhou fishball is one of their Signature.

This place is definitely better than Bugis street steamboat. The food is decent and fresh, plus the service is well taken care of.

If you don’t work around the Changi Business Park, then forget about reading it as it is too isolated. Unless you do drive, else I doubt you will want to travel all the way down.

Sou’s Noodle Restaurant is actually alright just that it is not conveniently located but the food and service are still pleasant. I was there because I wanted to go to the newly opened NTUC Xtra hypermarket at Changi Business Park and just nice I saw this deal. Talking about it, compare to the Giant at Tampines, the NTUC Xtra is less crowded and it enhance my shopping experience which I really like!

Did you notice their phrasing “Be Gentle with the earth. Wastage is charged at $10.00 per 100g”, this is a nicer approach.

Their ingredients are fresh, a little bloody for the meats. The soup base is non-MSG and it is pleasant with all the ingredients in, nothing much to complain about. Maybe just one, their red cut chili is not fresh and condiments beside the chili were offered.

Flavvors Steamboat OK Jan 30, 2013

A little disappointed this time round. With some ongoing promotion for the steamboat, we went to try.

The steamboat is a little private limited and the ingredients especially the sotong balls wasn't that fresh. What I hate the most is that they didn't offer plain fish ball and crab stick on their steamboat menu which are the must have. The pork and the chicken meats are too raw – the smell and taste of the blood really put me off even with the dip of sweet chili.

Unlike the usual steamboat eateries which offer plenty of sauces for you to mix up, they don’t have it here – not even the red cut chili with soy sauce. For the price of $14.80 without GST, it was alright. Luckily for the soup base, it still live up to the standard, I had the Assam Fish and Herbal which were the only thing I enjoyed for the steamboat.

Not that Delifrance that I Expect OK Jul 31, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : French | Bakery | Burgers and Sandwiches

I do hold high expectation for Delifrance especially when it is a international brand. I was quite disappointed with the quality of the food serve these days at Delifrance.

Smoked Salmon Sandwich doesn't have the right sauce to pair with it and to chew with it doesn't seems that great. Best to stick with egg mayo or tuna choice.

This is one of the new Oreo flavour, quite ordinary and I did prefer to have a nicer shake elsewhere.
