A Succulent Dinner~ Smile Nov 19, 2010

Categories : Pasta | Seafood | Steaks and Grills

It was my first visit to this European style restaurant located along Pasir Panjang road. Right here, you can have a wide selection of wines to pair with your food. Me and Bf got ourselves a glass of house wine. For my main, I ordered Succulent & Juicy Marinated Lamb Shoulder Rack served with lime butter and some mushrooms & cucumbers. I finished most of the lamb without the lime butter cuz i find that the lime taste is overpowering the lamb. Anyway, i must say that the lamb is tender, succulent and tasty! We also ordered steak fries for our side dish. It was served hot and crispy! Dipping the fries with cheesy sauce makes it even better. That's the unique point about this bistro. Even the simplest dish is prepared with thoughts. Don't miss ordering the 'soup of the day' that comes with garlic breads. The breads are fluffy and soft within.

Desserts are not listed on the menu, but don't miss ordering it directly from the waiter. We had a whooping hot brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Simply sweet and delicious!

High tea in the heartlands Smile Nov 18, 2010

If you happen to live near yong siak street, you will be surprised to see such a well conceptualised coffee house to be nestled in the heartlands.

I tried some cappucino, latte and the lemon cheese cake. It was a perfect simple high-tea session! As their website mentions, their barista is well trained and does not press buttons blindly. I witnessed the whole professional making of my coffees as i was sitting right beside the counter!

p.s: Do note that they close quite early at 6.30pm everyday!

PoP POp pOp! Smile Nov 18, 2010

Seriously, i've only tasted two kinds of popcorns in my life. That's the GV (golden village) ones, and this! Anyone who went to Resort World Sentosa wouldnt miss this place as it's situated prominently near the Universal Studios ticketing booth.

For a nibble or so, i bought the smallest packet for less than 10 bucks and the portion was more than enough for one serving! I ordered a mixture of caramel and cheese. Gawd! I love CARAMEL!! Each popcorn is crunchy and huge! However, the cheese popcorn had yellow stains on my mouth and hands! BUT, they still taste great!

Sizzling Korean BBq~ Smile Nov 18, 2010

Categories : Korean | Buffet | Korean BBQ

I visited this restaurant for a 2nd time for my friend's bday celebration. Previously, we had went to the branch at East Coast Park for Xmas celebration 2 yrs ago. Well, food standards didnt change much and I had a great night pigging korean food!

Firstly, i was seriously amazed by the amount of side dishes such as kimchi, cabbages, tofu, tao geys (bean sprouts), onions, and lots more that were presented once we ordered our food!! They tasted mostly sour and salty. Good to pair these side dishes(or ingredients) with the main courses. We ordered beef, chicken & pork for the meat. We felt that the BBQ meat tasted somewhat similar to local satay, but however it still retain some kind of korean aroma in it. We wrapped the meat with cabbages and veges that was served on a big long plate. It felt good eating like this as the taste of vegetables n meat were well balanced. It somehow also gave people the non-oily feel having to eat with vegetable wraps.

For the beef and chicken, the waitress bbq-ed it religiously and helped us to serve in a bowl. There was one mushroom with each meat! It was juicy. However when it came to the last bbq-ed meat - pork, the waitress forgot to help us served so we had to do some hands-on before it became chao-ta (burnt)!

Green tea was served free flow in bottles and i drank a lot cuz some of the food were spicy. (such as the pork) It's always the best drink to go along when eating 'heaty' BBq-ed food!

p.s:We were all fascinated with the coin sized cotton that will evolved into towels after pouring some water on it! tongue

I called it the Moo Moo dining! Smile Nov 17, 2010

Whenever i am craving for something light and casual in Jurong Point, i'll come here without doubt. My usual order would be the set meal whereby it consists of a main dish, a side dish & a milk tea. Drink it warm, it tastes better. It comes with chewy black pearl too!

For the main dish, i'll usually order mee sua (vermiceli), and salted chicken for the side dish. It makes a perfect simple lunch or dinner for me especially when it's the dearest taiwanese cuisine! Although quality of the mee sua is incomparable to the Taiwan's original, the food is considered good for its reasonable pricing.

If you are looking for taiwanese nibbles, you can just order side dishes like fried squid, cold tofu. For dessert, i recommend the egg tou hua with pearl.
