English Steak since 1960 Smile Nov 28, 2010

As close as you can be to the English….Fosters English Rose Cafe embrace all its patrons with the classic and tradition taste that one can be pamper with.

Fosters, the steakouse restaurant, which boasts a chill-out alfresco dining area coupled with garden trellis solidified its touch on contemporary design concept. The interior is cosy with a dining area marked by comfortable English wing chairs and a mock fireplace that looks out to the alfresco area. Ambience enhancement are in place with live performance that promises to bundle you with the joy of being an English. A gem that is well nestled at a tranquil corner of the ever busy Holland Village that you will never miss if you are one that love to pace around.

Services on site are prompt and has never went unattended. The food quality as branded are as promising as shown on their official site and no hitch of misses would jeopardise on their pride of mouth watering food selection. The tenderloin steak portion that came in are well cut and cooked to medium well perfection and absolutely robust that would mesmerise any steak lovers.

To end the meal with the dessert as paired with the set dinner going @ $39 ++ , cream brulee was last to leave a stomping impression of Fosters. The caramel is well toasted on top with the combination of sweetness of the custard that bears the melting texture that propelled the taste to heavenly.

The steakhouse that safe keep your special moments with your special one down to your memory lane…

One of the famous names in line from the land of popcorn...Garrett Popcorn opened its door to Singapore in the mid of this year during the opening of Resort World Singapore at Sentosa.

Ever since on their opening, endless stream of hardcore popcorn fans has been tasting great flavors and delightful memory from the outlet. Promising authentic taste and cooking method direct from Chicago, the popcorn comes in original, butter and cheese to name the few popular tastes. CheeseCorn™ which is their proprietary taste that are made of freshly melted sharp cheddar cheese, is generously stirred into their kettles of hot air popped popcorn. By placing the popcorn into my glutton mouth, my taste buds will only agree that this is the most satisfying popcorn that Singaporeans can land their hands on!

Your taste of Chicago...less Michael Jordan!

Cantonese Style Porridge Smile Nov 02, 2010

Categories : Coffeeshop | Porridge/Congee

One of the long time legends around in Singapore that dated all the way back to 1971, this hawker has been hovering on my wishlist for some time and there is no better time to have it up on my site!...Ah Chiang's Porridge, my almost weekly eat out venture that mesmerise me to lay my glutton tongue on the smooth and starchy porridge! My personal favourite!

Love the consistency of the porridge texture on every visit of mine, which pretty much translate on the work that had been put through by the kitchen crew to ensure the quality especially after many hours of hovering under the manually controlled charcoal heat. Faint minced meat consolidation in every mouthful of feasting, coupled with fresh meat ingredients magically transformed a simple hawker fare into something so fulfilling and worthy. The side orders of fresh raw fish, well prepared century eggs and lastly the you tiao is a must have during every visit.

Pleasant warmth within the stomach can never been significant especially after one hard day of work but contrary to a full hard meal. Ah Chiang's Porridge is the ideal choice...light but yet filling to keep one going and kitchen crew never fail to uphold on their quality control and beliefs on their cooking method. One can really ponder how charcoal...something so redundant and unappealing in our daily and BBQ life would play the most crucial part in creating this delicacy.

For all porridge lovers...Tiong Poh Road must be on your GPS list!

Konichiwa...and the time now is for a lunchy that we all well deserved on a laidback Saturday!

Me N gF team is on our way out to source for good food again to satisfy our hunger especially after burning our calories in bed for more than 12 hours the day before. Luck was not on our side as we were being shut out by 2 food outlets as we were not aware of their opening timing which is of no avail. Luckily, this Japanese outlet scroll through my personal search database in less than 1 min and we were left with no regrets for visiting this authentic Japanese outlet!

OHSHO OHSHO aka Jiao Zi Wang Jiang has been around the Cuppage Plaza area ever since my tertiary school day and this brought back my memories for almost a decade back where me and my mates will usually gathered at the lane counter seats where we enjoyed the tasteful ramen and gyoza. Upon being served with our piping hot of 2 set orders for the day, the standards of the food and appearance has pretty much maintained. The taste and appearance is very much similar to the ones that i had 10 years back with every bite relishing my times with my mates. The Shoyu Ramen is springy with the Qness effect, light with the soup totally complimenting with all ingredients. The pork chasu is tender and cooked to its freshness and the gyoza is at its ever crispy ever without a hitch of disappointment. The Tenchin if i am not mistaken which is the egg omelette with rice finished with a starch soup gravy is the choice to have for a fast lunch out. The omelette is cooked to perfection with the texture hovering the steam rice within and lastly on the gravy providing the finishing touches. Light on the palate but a fulfilling stomach effect after 5 mins on it.

A must try Japanese food joint if you are someone who is always on the go but wished to be instill and be involved with the culture of the Japanese food! Ohsho Ohsho desu! The ideal food for the reasonable pricing!

Sweetest Memory ! Smile Sep 20, 2010

Canelé Pâtisserie Chocolaterie.... my personal favourite that brings the best of the sweetest desserts to me! Helmed by Chef Pang who has almost 17 years of pastry culinary skills and experiences under his belt, his expertise and leadership with a strategic vision has led the patisserie to its pivot point.

Bought a Macha cake for my father's birthday and all were full of praises for the creator on the manipulation of the ingredients that artistically conjoined and evolved into a piece of art! Macha...one of their signature series which is a finely swoosh delicate green tea mousse and chestnut cremeux layered with green tea biscuit and topping up of almond crumble, creating the crunchy texture that keeps our dental mechanism occupied. The sweetness level involved are so subtly mild but heavenly and suitable for all ages.

In conclusion,as a regular patron for the patisserie, Canele has always deliver and have never failed to disappoint but bundle me with the joy of sweetness!
