ps cafe is a quiet place to chill and relax with friends and enjoy good food.
tried out the truffle shoestring fries at this place. it is indeed no ordinary fast food fries. for one thing the portion is huge. and they sprinkle some parsley and cheese on top. it was also not as oily too. making it a delicious flavourful snack. although pricey, the ambience and food is well worth it.

food for thought Smile Jul 06, 2011

went to try out food for thought for the first time last weekend. inittiately went to the other outlet at queen street, near the art house, but at just 12.30pm, it was a pack full house on a sat rainy lunch. they even had a sign outside saying the waiting time was at least 40 mins. feeling disappointed, but nt disheartened, we went to their nearby outlet instead.

located just 10-15 mins walk away opp the national library, we were able to find seats straight away. although just a small cafe, with an open kitchen area, it had a cozy feel to it. ordered several dishes to try.

pulled pork sandwich
the pork was very soft and nice, covered in delicious sauces. the bread was abit hard, but still quite good due to the spices they put on it.

beef sandwich
equally good as the pulled pork. generous in meat. soft and juicy. same bread as the pulled pork sandwich.

roasted tomato pasta
lots of sauce, quite good

all the dishes cost approx $10, quite reasonable for cafe food.
and water is self service and free to take.

Spending per head: Approximately $10(Lunch)

went to strictly pancakes to try out their pancakes after hearing good reviews on it.
we ordered several pancakes to share and try among ourselves.
ordered the individual a la carte pancake instead of the custom one.
each set cost around $12 to $17

cant rmb the actual dish names, but the gist is i ordered:
salmon with pancake- salmon kinda salty
beef patty with pancake- average
sausage with pancake?
chocolate pancake- delicious with chocolate ice cream and sauce over.

the butter and maple syrup which came with the pancake were also nice. tried all three diffferent butters; salted butter, unsalted butter, rum and rasin butter

i would say the traditional sweet pancake is still better than the savoury version

Charlie Brown OK Jun 27, 2011

The Charlie’s all-time favourite breakfast ($8.50) i had was a simple make-up of two fried eggs, chicken chipolata, turkey ham and pancakes. it was pretty good and quite value for money. the pancakes were soft and complemented the sauce well. the place was filled with cute cartoons of the snoopy, charlie brown and friends. a very lively and cute atmosphere.

Matcha Bread Smile Jun 22, 2011

i had the matcha bread with azuki red bean filling at green pumkin for a tea break. it costs $1.20. a reasonable price for bread at such a nice setting. wat i like about this bread is that the red bean paste given is very generous. the red brean is thick and rich in flavour and alot in one little piece of bread. the bread is also very soft and nice.
