fullhouse OK Oct 21, 2012

Full House cafe has it's outlet at Malaysia KL and Penang but this is the first time i tried the outlet at Singapore. I like the theme of this cafe, sweetly cute, but the way they set the furniture and their service is not so good, so i i will give a 7 out of 10 only. For food wise, only a few of them are nice, you can judge it by their prices.

signature lamb shank $28+
the lamb shank is nice, the meat is stewed till very tender and soft, and the gravy is very flavourful, though it is a bit heavy and salty, but i still like it. the mashed potato is nicely mashed, finely and creamy. Though a bit expensive but this dish really worth the price.

alfredo pasta $15
this pasta is cream base, the taste is not bad but i dont like the tinge of sweetness in it. my friend couldnt accept the creaminess but i am pretty ok with it. The pasta is well cook, al dente.

spicy vongole $15
Not a good choice, the pasta is quite spicy but nothing special, there are numerous clam meat inside but too hard coz overcook i think.

suan thai OK Oct 21, 2012

Categories : Thai | Seafood

Bought the Suan Thai buffet dinner voucher for $15 at Streetdeal (excl tax). Here are some of the dishes for ala carte buffet:-

fried fish slice w thai sauce
the thai sauce is what we can get from supermarket the bottle kind, so nothing to wow on, but the fish is quite nicely battered and fried and no fishy smell.

fried kailan w salted fish
actually we din taste the salted fish at all, it's just like the normal oyster sauce / soy sauce gravy. but the vege is quite fresh, and it's served hot.

green curry vege
the green curry took about 15mins to come, either they forget about the order or too many people already. anyway i dont like this, too few green curry spices taste and too watery already.

thai rice crackers w mayoinaise chicken
the rice crackers also took a long time to come, although we have no eagerness for it also. the rice crackers is not crunchy, and the mayonaise thingie is not nice!

overall the buffet is too normal to be good with this pricing. Not recommended.

la petite cuisine Smile Oct 08, 2012

Categories : French | Restaurant

A small french restaurant that is being recommended by the newspaper which tempted me to go try on. The table seating is very limited, only about 10-15 person capacity in the room and 20 person outside, so you better reserve a table first before going. And most of the customers are couples or young family, so it's a hot place for dating i guess. No service charge and tax is included, so dont expect much from the service staff. And you gotta go to the counter and order yourselves and take your own sky juice even the shop is so small and squeezy.

foie gras w orange emulsion and fresh salad $18.50
the first ever time i tried foie gras (fattened duck liver) or known as the most popular delicacy French cuisine! The texture is a bit like fats but not sickening, soft inside like tofu and panfried till fragrant and crispy outside. The gravy given is very nice, with the orange peel skin and sauce that gives some fresh sourish taste on the foie gras, and create the appetizing feeling on me. The salad is very appetizing too, with sour dressing it is a really fascinating and awesome entree!

Potato leek soup $3.50
The soup of the day is potato leek soup and tomato soup and i ordered the potato leek. The soup is served in a shallow plate-like container which looks deep but very shallow only. So it also means that the soup portion is quite few and pathetics. the bread is a bit dry and hard but goes well with the soup.

Confit de carnade (comes with the gratin) $16.50
The duck leg steak is nice, they cooked till very soft and easy to chew on, and the gravy (brown sauce) is also very nice. The gratin is made up of sliced potatoes and cream and baked till golden colour with the cheese on top.

Sirloin steak $16.50
The sirloin is actually only two small pieces of meat that is panfried till a bit too over ad because it's too dry and not nice. The sauce given is only the mustard sauce so i think it's quite not sincere enough to serve it. And the frites are also too over cooked so it becomes quite soggy and oily.

You mian
the noodle stall in my school NYP is quite popular, and i would say that the standard is quite high too. there are you mian, ban mian, tomyum noodle, dumpling noodle, fish soup noodle and fish porridge. the soup is quite fresh and sweet and tasty so everytime i want to have noodle i will consider this stall first. The noodle is springy and nice, not too soggy. There are anchovies and fried red onion that make the bowl of noodle nicer.

fish soup OK Oct 08, 2012

Fish soup noodle $3.5
I always try to search for nice fish soup noodle but still yet to find one in singapore. The soup still cant satisfy my expectation because i have tried once at KL, malaysia which is really damn nice! Anyway this is consider not bad already as compared to what i had before. The fish slice is fried till golden colour, not too oily and they soaked the soup in it. The soup is not bad, but it would taste nicer if there is preserved vege inside.
