Claypot Chicken Rice Smile Apr 20, 2012
Categories : Hawker Centre

Waited for half an hour for the pot of claypot chicken rice to come!! There were a lot of tables waiting for their food to arrive too. There was a combination of ingredients in the pot, including rice, pork sausages, salted fish, waxed 3-layered pork, chicken pieces and vegetables (no mushrooms ): ) The black sauce is put in separately depending on how much you want it. The rice was tasty with the flavour of all the meat, especially the pieces of salted fish. We ordered the medium pot, just enough for four people.

Fried fish noodles would not be my first choice of food when at a food court but there was no other choice since my parents bought it back. But I was pleasantly surprised that this fried fish noodles was quite delicious. It was filled with ingredients including the fish pieces, noodles, vegetables, preserved vegetables, ikan bilis, seaweed and fried shallots. All these made the soup really flavourful! The noodles was of a satisfying portion and together with the variety of ingredients, it was really slurping goood. They also gave about five pieces of fried fish and there were quite huge pieces. chopstick

Thick chocolate cake Smile Apr 16, 2012

I love awfully chocolate cakes! Their cakes are rich in good quality chocolates. Although the whole cake is chocolate, you won't feel that it is too sweet because they layer the cake with alternate layers of chocolate and chocolate sponge cake. The chocolate is also not too sweet so you won't feel sick after eating just one piece and you would definitely want more than a slice.

Tender Beef Noodles Smile Apr 16, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Food Court | Noodles

I usually order beef ball noodles because beef slices could turn out tough and I didn't want to struggle with eating the meat. However, I decided to beef slices noodles instead that day. It was not a bad choice after all. The portion of noodles served at this stall is a lot! (should ask for less if you don't eat much) The best thing is there are many beef slices to complement the huge portion of noodles. And, the beef slices were tender and easy to chew. The thick sauce was brewed well and was thick enough to last through together with noodles. I love the amount of bean sprouts the person gave me! Yummy! smile

Spending per head: Approximately $4

I just discovered quite an interesting tea at Gong cha that day and I have been constantly ordering it quite regularly! It's Earl Grey Milk Tea with herbal jelly. I used to love pearls a lot but gong cha's pearls are not that nice so I opted for herbal jelly instead which turned out amazingly gooood together with milk tea. The herbal jelly is not too bitter and I really like the jelly texture when you slurp it up the straw! I always thought herbal jelly with milk tea was weird but no! I think this combination is much much better than pearls and healthier too! smile
