Ajisen Ramen Smile Mar 09, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Ramen | Kids-Friendly

Went in at around 5.30pm so there weren’t any queue ;D

The staff is friendly and service was prompt.

As usual, we ordered the ramen set where the price includes 1 ramen + 1 Ala-Carte + 1 drink.

I ordered the Pork Kimuchi Ramen with white fish ala-carte.

The Pork Kimuchi Ramen is actually kimchi ramen.

The kimchi has it’s spiciness but the soup base is not spicy, hence the ramen is not really spicy.

Love their rich and thick soup with the chewy texture ramen ;D

The ramen portion is as always, considered a lot to me as I would get really full after finishing the whole bowl of ramen.

The kimchi taste isn’t too strong though, I would prefer it to be more tasteful.

The pork slices are thin and delicious.

The white fish outer is crispy and the fish within is fresh and juicy.

Coupled with the mayonnaise and sweet & sour sauce served, it brings the dish to a new level of taste that makes it appetizing ^^

As always, we enjoyed dining at ajisen. Delicious food and great service.(:

If I were to pick any unsatisfactory, it will be that I would always be so full after dining there lol

Norwegian Salmon Smile Feb 03, 2013
Categories : Steaks and Grills

Ordered the Norwegian Salmon!;D

We also added the soup of the day, garlic bread and a drink of my choice to make it a complete meal with an additional of $3.90.

As usual, the soup, garlic bread and drinks are served first.

Delighted to hear that it’s the tomato soup for the day!^^

Really love their tomato soup. Although I would say it isn't really very special about it, it's thick and the tomato taste and ingredient is generous and just right;D

The main dish came around 10minutes later.

Love how their spaghetti and salad is topped with their special mango sauce that makes it more appetizing with the sweet and sour flavour;D

The salmon was fresh and sweet. And there’s a slight grilled taste within, coupled with some of their special sauce, making it nice and juicy ;D

Enjoyable and satisfying meal. Love dining at hot tomato! lol

Ramen!;D Smile Dec 24, 2011

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Ramen

Our first time eating here;D
There weren’t a lot of people as it was not the dining hour. When we first went in, we were issued the card we could use to make purchases.(:

Me and my friend took a tour around the whole place and find that almost all the stores sells similar ramen.
We eventually chose the store for the rice they have there.(:

We ordered the original pork don (there was a name for it but can’t recall the exact one:x) and also the miso soup ramen.
Miso soup ramen!;D

Miso soup ramen!;D

Love the miso soup ramen;D the soup is so richly flavoured with the miso, and there are lots of ingredients in it such as seaweed, cabbage, the Japanese special egg and the pork meat.
The ramen was chewy and yet soft too. Really love the texture. The portion given was quite a lot that I could become so full if I did not share them with my friends;D
Would like to highlight on the egg! It may seems like a hardboiled egg but it is so unique that the egg white is cooked, hard but carries a little softness, and the egg yolk is not totally cooked. There is also the miso taste that sips into the egg. Had tried this kind of egg at elsewhere before…really love it!;D
Rice!;D

Rice!;D

The rice was nice too! The white rice beneath the meat may look plain and bland but it taste nice with the pork meat;D the sticky Japanese rice was fragrant too^^ The amount of meat given was very generous too!(:

Just that for both dishes, the meat used was the pork meat with lots of fats. We were not used to eating such meat so initially we did not really like the meat much. But after taking more of it, we grew to like it;D

Although the price is quite expensive that each ramen cost at least $11+ and the rice costs $6+, for such delicious and tempting delicacies…we will try it again the next time;D

Neapolitan cake;D Smile Dec 13, 2011
Categories : Bakery

This was my first time trying a Hong Kong style Neapolitan cake.
Used to hear the mention of this cake in hongkong shows and it seems to taste very nice.

Glad I finally get to try this cake;D it was not a big whole cake, but a small rectangle size cake nicely packed.(:
I totally fell in love with this cake the moment I took the first bite. There were so many different layers! Few crispy layers, some soft sponge layer, some layers full of cream, and it just match so well together^^

It’s like when I bite it, it was a little cream that I taste at the very top, immediately after I bite on the crispy layer at the top and bottom and this squeeze the cream in between, oozing out into my mouth.
The cream was not the inferior cream that we get tired with if there is a lot on the cake. the cream was so special that it has a mixture with something that bites like nuts and the taste is so “mmm…” ;D

Definitely not exaggerating, but perhaps it’s because this is my first time trying and it suits my taste;D

Honey Milk Tea;D Smile Nov 30, 2011
Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

This is my first time drinking milk tea from KOI. Previously, I would always go for their macchiato, but this time I decided to try something new to me, the Honey Milk Tea.(:

It surprised me with it’s nice refreshing taste;D
Since it was honey-ed, there wasn’t the need to select the sugar level. And gladly, the sweetness was just right^^
The milk tea itself was rich in the tea taste, hence it was not too sweet. The addition of honey gives a natural honey taste to the drink. Nice drink to have;D

I could nicely taste the flavour of both. Both of them combined together gives an exceptional taste.(:
First experience with their milk tea was good, so no doubt I will try other flavour of their milk teas;D
