Small outlet OK Mar 02, 2011

This outlet is very small. It has an indoor and outdoor area. The indoor area only consists of a few tables. Usually, I would have their toast set with eggs and coffee for breakfast. What I liked best is their coffee and tea as the size of the cup is very big. Have tried their roti prata before but I do not like it as the person who makes the roti prata cooked it until very crispy. It is not fluffy at all. I woul dmuch prefer the traditional type of prata that is soft and fluffy in the inside. The curry that comes with it is still okay, a bit spicy which I liked.

Spending per head: Approximately $3.50(Breakfast)

There are better options OK Mar 02, 2011

The kueh looks very tempting from the display window so I bought about $3 worth of kuehs. However, out of the 4-5 varieties that I chose, there is only one that I liked. The one is wrapped with banana leaf and there is banana bits inside it. Maybe it is more like dessert. Not too sweet. As for the rest, the taste is not as good as it looks. Some are too hard while it is supposed to be soft. The price is quite reasonable - 3 pieces for $1.

Standards has slighly dropped OK Mar 02, 2011

Although the name is called Fishing Ball, it sells a variety of noodles ranging from laksa to prawn noodles. Last time their prawn noodles is very delicious, however the standard has dropped ever since the auntie stopped working there. The prawn soup stock became diluted and not as flavourable as before. Now you cannot taste the sweetness of the prawns in the stock. The noodles like the fishball noodles is still okay.

Quite ordinary snacks OK Mar 02, 2011

This stall sells a variety of baos and dim sum. Their baos are not bad, quite fluffy. As for the other items like the prawn dumpling, siew mai, the taste will not be as good as those that you have from the dim sum restaurants. The cheong fun is not that smooth and is slightly thick. However, it is still a good choice if you just wanted something light to have with your coffee. The items are all piping hot from the streamer. Overall, can try their baos.

Not so many variety OK Mar 02, 2011

The Yong Tau foo stall does not have a lot of variety of items, in my personal opinion, as I have tried other stalls before. The soup was ordinary, nothing special. As I always like to have the soup version, the soup stock to me is very important. The veggies are still quite fresh and they have a few fried items. However, the taste of the yong tau foo items do not taste very good. It is just like what you get in the supermarket. Maybe because it is not hand made. Can patronise occasionally but definitely not my first choice.
