Breads and cakes Smile Mar 02, 2011
Categories : Bakery

It was time to pack some food home so we went to Bread Talk with the intention to get some bread or pastry. In the end, we got ourselves some danish fruit pastries. The pastries were very nice. The pastry is quite fluffy and there is a balance of sweetness. Even with the fruits and sugar, the sweetness is not overwhelming.

The layout of the outlet is very spacious and bright. Very clean. However, I felt that the service staff still have more room for improvement in terms of service standards.

Very traditional herbal tea joint Smile Mar 02, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese Desserts

This is a very traditional herbal tea joint and there is not much variety. However, the herbal tea that they sell are quite good and if your like the herbal jelly that is also known as huiling gao, then maybe you will like this joint.

The herbal drinks are not too sweet and it is good for cooling your body especially if you are very heaty. This joint is not crowded and you can take your time enjoying your herbal tea or jelly. The furnishing is very tradition and I quite like their tables and chairs. Besides, they will bring your order to your table.

Craving for KFC CNY egg tarts Smile Mar 02, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Fast Food | Halal

For the Chinese New Year period, KFC introduced a new type of portuguese egg tarts. It is topped with bits of the mandarin oranges. I like this new creation as the slight sweetness and sourness from the mandarin orange bits help to balance out the flavours from the egg custard. It is more appetising and you just cannot stop after you take the first bite. Very refreshing with some fruity taste. Thumbs up for it.

Long John Silver's Smile Mar 02, 2011

This joint is located at the basement and it was not too crowded although at times there are groups of students there. Normally, we will order either some promotion stuff or the set with 2 pieces of chicken. The set comes with fries and a drink. The boneless chicken has been coated with a layer of batter and fried till crispy. Very delicious as it is crispy of the outside yet the chicken meat is moist in the inside. The fries are crispy too. Although service is not that fast compared to other fast food outlets, it is something different from burgers.

A very quiet outlet Smile Mar 02, 2011

This outlet is very quiet even during weekday lunch hours. When we arrived, there was only 1 table that was occupied. Since there was not many people, the service was very good. Once we placed our order, the staff will inform you that it takes about 20 mins for the pizzas to be ready. They then proceed to serve your drinks and soup. The soup of the day was some veggie minestone soup. Not bad. As for the pizzas, they were piping hot, freshly out of the oven. There was a lot of cheese. Very delicious.
