freshly made ice cream  Smile Jun 19, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Italian | Middle Eastern/Mediterranean | European | Ice Cream and Gelato

stickhouse - ice creams are freshly made from real fruits and ingredients which are frozen into a stick
tried the pistachio, hazelnut chocolate ice cream
pistachio ice cream - opted for chocolate dipping with almond nuts and the chocolate seemed to cover the taste of the ice cream, but when i eat it alone, cant really taste the pistachio nut either
hazelnut chocolate ice cream - chocolate ice cream a little too sweet for my liking, tasted normal.
ice creams are surprisingly creamier than i have expected.
promotion of 3 for $10 , think its pretty normal, not something I would want to have again

good dim sum  Smile Jun 18, 2012

Love the dim sum at fortunate restaurant
Although it is a stall in Food Republic food court, it has quality similar to Crystal Jade.
lotus bun (lian rong paos) - I love that its shaped like a pink peach - skin is tender, moist and chewy and the lotus has good texture - smooth without being too sweet.
har gaw (prawn dumplings) - I love that prawns are big and chewy and skin is thin and does stick together in a clammy mess or break too easily.
Staff is friendly and gave me good recommendations when I was undecided as to what to order.

this is one of my favourite snack places
you tiao is huge and crunchy, though not as crunchy and soft as the ones in Perak Malaysia, its good for Singapore standards
yellow bean bun, good taste, filling is generous and bun is soft.
love the variety they offer - from buns to keuhs and even sweet corn desserts
queue is always long, service is quick and staff is friendly.

good curry puff Smile Jun 16, 2012

Categories : Bakery | Halal

polar puffs are one of my favourites.
costing from 1.20 - 1.60. its cheap and tasty
pastry can be a little thick but flavour is good - curry is spicy and fillings are generous with egg slices , peas, and potato chunks in it are huge.
they have a few variety, including vegetarian puffs

staff was a little nonchalant , had to call her a few times before she came to serve me.

good roast chicken Smile Jun 16, 2012
Categories : Restaurant | Steaks and Grills

decided to try out this place with recent deal offering a roast chicken, 3 side dishes & a drink for a complete set meal at $12
did not make a reservation when I head down at 8.30pm, only 1 table was occupied, but I was told that I had to wait for an hour for them to roast the chicken. The way they operate is really puzzling.

roast chicken - flavour is good and meat is tender (surprisingly their roasting is good)
side dishes :
potato salad - delicious
garlic rice - okay
vegetables - okay

place is quiet and cushion seating is comfortable. besides their questionable service, overall is okay
