Based on a email I received of a Groupon ad, I decided to check out this little Thai food establishment, located in Ang Mo Kio Ave10, before deciding to buy the coupon online. I also got a colleague of mine to come along. After walking around the estate for 5-10 minutes, and with the help of a stranger whom I asked for directions, I found the place, Ont Authentic Thai Cuisine!

The staff were friendly and immediately offered us a seat. I proceeded to order the Clear Tom Yam Soup, Pandan Chicken and Thai Style Steam Fish. I was not sure of what to expect but the place had a homely, comfortable atmosphere which reminded me of some of the eateries in Thailand. The food arrived quickly and as we started to eat...I realized that their claim was true, this was honest to goodness, authentic Thai food .

The Tom Yam soup, while mild-looking, had a strong kick and spicyness and a wonderful lingering taste of basil leaves and lemongrass..the aroma and taste was simply excellent! Kudos to the chef. A perfect blend of seafood, spices and other fresh ingredients!

The Pandan Chicken came in a set of 4 pieces and was cooked just right and the meat was tender and juicy with the right blend of spices.

I am quite particular about my fish and was skeptical at first, but the Thai Style Steam Fish was excellent....cooked just right and layered with Thai sauce sprinkled with garlic and parsley....delicious..a must try!

To top it all off, we had the Mango with Sticky Rice, one of my all time favorite Thai desserts..indulgent...but so good.

When the bill arrived, I realized the pricing was very reasonable and approx 30-40% cheaper than dining in a mall, and with no GST and no service charge included. Nice!

In summary - a must try for anyone expecting a no frills, honest to goodness, authentic Thai meal that beats the upmarket Thai food restaurants in malls anytime. I also noticed they had a large selection of items in their menu to cater to different tastes and preferences of customers. I will definitely be back to try some of the other items.

I would highly recommend this place to friends and family.
