Cookies & Cream Ice Blended Smile Jul 09, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American

Was walking around town and decided to pop in for the new promotional drink from coffee bean: Cookies & Cream Ice Blended.

The large drink cost $8, a little more expensive than their normal drinks, but most promotional items tend to be a little more pricey, so it's still acceptable. For the taste, I would say it's like mocha mixed a cookies & cream. The mocha taste is the more dominating, but there is no lack of cookies & cream flavour.

Ice was blended really fine, and compliments the drink really well. Recommended! Go try before the promo is over!

Xin Zhou Mi Fen Smile Jul 06, 2012

Received news that the previous Hong Kong Street zi char has closed down because the food taste kinda bad, and in it's place is yet another Hong Kong Street zi char.

So I came down and ordered a plate of Xin Zhou Mi Fen to try out the chef's skills. And to my amazement, the plate of Xin Zhou Mi Fen only cost $3.50! This is by far the cheapest I ever seen. This may be cheap, but there is no compromise on the ingredients used and the taste. I like how they fry the bee hoon such that is it very moist and not oily at the same time.

One of the best Xin Zhou Mi Fen I tasted, do give this stall a try!

Bandung Smile Jul 05, 2012

Had a cup of Bandung for a $1 after my meal. I like my bandung with extra milk, and since the bandung in this stall is not premixed, I asked the stall owner for extra milk, and it comes with no extra charge.

The bandung is quite sweet, just how I like it. The rose syrup is not diluted and there is quite a generous portion of milk added. However, I still feel that I could do with more milk, but that's personal preference.

Overall, a good drink at a cheap price!

Chicken & Mushroom Porridge Smile Jul 05, 2012

Come here to Telok Blangah Cresent for fei lou porridge, but unfortunately, it's closed today!! So I settled for a bowl of porridge at Quan Fang.

Ordered this Chicken & Mushroom porridge for $2.50. Decent price and decent portion. The porridge is about average only, and it has a kind of home-made feel to it. Chicken and mushrooms are quite soft and tasty too.

Overall, not too bad for a light meal.

Wu Xiang Guan Chang Smile Jul 05, 2012

Categories : Hawker Centre

Lunching with my dad again today and decide to have something special, something we don't eat almost every day. And so we decided to have Wu Xiang Guan Chang.

Paid $10.40 for two plates of bee hoon and a big plate of assorted sides. The assorted sides includes the most important Guan Chang, and other things like yu tiao with fish paste, egg wrap with fish paste. I especially like the guan chang. It taste like really soft pork, and goes really well with the pink sweet sauce (In fact, everything goes well with the pink sweet sauce). Although I really hate pig intestines for the smell, but guan chang is probably the closest thing I ever eat.

The rest of items are deep fried, but they are not too oily. Bee hoon is also fried really well with a strong dark sauce flavour.

I recommend this stall and would definitely come again.

Tip: Don't order too much sides. It's expensive and you're actually taking more what you think.
