hotplate beancurd on promotion OK Jun 15, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Food Court | Porridge/Congee

I ordered their hot plate toufu, it was their sole promotion dish. the portion of the hot plate toufu was pretty large, served on the normal hot plate. However, I counted there were not many pieces of toufu in the dish. there was one prawn which was sliced into half. The meat was not juicy and succulent, it kind of stuck to the shell. There were a lot of onion. The onions made the dish taste a lot sweeter and tastier. As a whole I found it so so only, if you ask me to pay for original price of this dish, I will order some other dishes.

after walking around at suntec’s pc show, my girlfriend and I got pretty hungry so to avoid the massive crowd, we headed to marina square food court to a meal. We decided to order the fried oyster to share. The portion was pretty large for the price we paid. The number of oysters were reasonable, not too little. It was a little starchy though. But at least they did add quite a lot of eggs to the dish. It was a little salty though and we were left pretty thirsty after finishing it up. But nevertheless, it was really fragrant.

new stall at junction 10 OK Jun 11, 2012

I think happy lemon should implement some sugar level scale. I was really thirsty after shopping around junction 10 with my mum. I decided to head to happy lemon to order their refreshing drink to share with my mum. After looking at the menu, we settled for the honey lemon juice. We thought that with the addition of honey, the drink will have a balance of sweetness and sourness. However, to our horror, when we took a sip, it was so sour. The sourness makes your teeth tingle and it lingered for a while. There was no hint of the honey in the drink. Since we ordered their jumbo size, it would be a waste of money if we stop drinking after one sip, so we just put up with the sourness and continue drinking. After a while, the tingling in the teeth stop, probably our mouth got used to the sourness. But the sourness did last pretty long. I seriously recommend them to have sugar level like other bubble tea stalls. Different people have their preference for their drink, but I guess most of the time, it was a little sour for me.

disappointing OK May 08, 2012
Categories : Food Court | Chicken Rice

i da bao the chicken rice from this stall for lunch today, it was a little disappointing for me. The rice was not very fragrant and a tad too oily. The rice was also rather clumpy. The chicken was not very tender, kind of leather in texture. The skin was ok, not to oily. I think the saviour of the day was the chilli sauce, it was not too spicy but rather sourish. As a whole it was a little disappointing to me.

so so wanton mee OK May 07, 2012
Categories : Food Court | Noodles

I tried the wanton noodles from this stall, it does not really up to my standard. Though the noodles were cooked perfectly, very springy and QQ but the char siew was not too good. I was not roasted well enough. The char siew did not have any charred bits, it was not as tasty. The wanton was so so, quite big and meaty. You can taste that they used really fresh meat to make the wanton. The wanton skin is very thin too. the vegetable was a little overcooked and tasteless. Since I ordered the dry version, my noodles was mixed with gravy. The gravy was rather tasty but I think their chilli was not bad, very spicy and shiok. I think it is the saviour of this dish.
