It was a crowded Tuesday night at AMK Hub and we were getting sick of having foodcourt cuisine. Though we still went up to the top floor's Food Fare. We decided to take the last two seats at the inner table of this Teppanyaki joint. Their business was quite brisk, the service was also brisk.

I had the chicken set with bean sprouts and vegetables. Rice and soup were included. Though it is not a high-end teppenyaki joint, you can still enjoy watching your food being cooked in front of your eyes right here in the heartlands.

The end result was quite good, maybe because I wasn't expecting anything. But good is good. The chicken was tender and not half-cooked. The sauce was salty but perfect for the plain rice. Vegetables and bean sprouts were not overcooked as well~! Yummy!

If my eyes served me well the other day on 20th July 2013, I saw that it is still open for business.

There were lots to choose from and I had a hard time trying to decide on what to order because everything looked so delicious! In the end..

I ordered a Scallop Curry Rice with original sauce and middle level of spiciness. Yummy!! I think I could even challenge the higher level of spiciness! The omelette was really nice because it's not cooked till it's too hard. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy! They helped in making the overall dish balanced, taste wise!

The scallops were really nice and juicy and not small and most importantly, quite fresh! Yay!

As for the service, well, it was quite bad as the person who greeted me at the door wasn't friendly and gave a not-so-nice face when I requested to keep my cake in their fridge. It's just a small paper bag and my attitude was good. Later, they gave some excuse that they're busy. Finally, when they realised that we're not very happy, they served us with a wide smile. -_-"

$8.80 for a bento at the foodcourt in Marina Bay Sands Shoppe. The only place where one can actually afford food.

As it was the STGCC day, it was super crowded but we managed to secure a 4-seater luckily.

This set was the chicken and shishamo set, one of the cheapest items on their menu. I chose it because it looked the best out of all items.

The teriyaki chicken was a disaster as it's so hard!! The teriyaki sauce was nice but.. you know.

Luckily, the shishamo saved my lunch. It's crispy and meaty despite its looks. It wasn't too salty as well, marinated just nice.

The salad was passable. The miso soup was okay as well, but maybe a tad too salty.

My New-Found Fave XLBs! Smile Jul 10, 2013

Categories : Noodles

After the sudden cancellation of the INCANTO halfway through the show, we decided to console ourselves by trying this branch of Imperial Treasure.

Wanton Soup is milky white, quite unusual, however, that's why it's so nice. It's very fragrant and smooth, not oily. The wantons are filled quite fully with nice wanton skins that are not very thick! ♥

Gyoza is not bad but it could be better. Maybe the bottom of the gyoza is not crispy enough, haha.

Last but not least, XIAO LONG BAOS! I thought Canton Paradise's XLBs were good and number 1 for me, but well, I found a new restaurant for taking the top spot in my heart!

The xiao long bao is juicy, meat is generous, skin is thin, taste is GREAT! I miss it a lot! I must go and eat them again soon, it's like an addiction, a good addiction.

Tasty Egg Tarts Smile Jul 10, 2013

Received these egg tarts as a gift from parents of my ex-student!

The egg tarts look nothing like conventional egg tarts from major bakeries and their taste surely is not conventional as well!

The egg tarts are really delicious! The tart itself is not hard, it is crumbly and crispy!

The egg is smooth and fluffy! It is also not too sweet.

As you can see, the box is nice and it is ideal as a gift for people when you meet or go to their houses! I need to have more of their goodies! *sets off to Novena*
