Red Velvet Cake

Red Velvet Cake

Afternoon tea at Au Chocolat. The cakes look delicious so i went in and got myself a red velvet cake (which is hugely popular these days). The cream is rich and the cake is soft and spongy. Definitely good to have on a Saturday afternoon. The place i not too full as well - a nice place to chill and have a long chat (plus coffee) with a good friend or two. However, it is a little pricey because of the location.

Chocolate Banana Tart

Chocolate Banana Tart

This is at Vivocity. The tarts look fabulous from the display. Ordered the chocolate banana tarts with 2 more for takeaways. It is a tad pricey, at at least S$7+ for one fruit tart. However, it is populated with fruits and the tastes good. There is quite a lot of cream actually, so choose wisely if you are on a diet (pick those with less cream by looking at their cross-section, haha)

Sushi Dinner Smile Aug 17, 2013

Sushi

Sushi

This is my first time eating at the Bugis Itacho. The queue was quite long (understandable, given that it's Friday night) and it took a 45min wait before I could get in. My friend and I had mostly sushi for dinner, with some sides and random orders. The tuna sushi, salmon sushi and fatty tuna sushi was good and pretty fresh. However, the mini don was too small (with too little sashimi bits).

Chicken Rice Set

Chicken Rice Set

This stall is just opposite Bugis Junction, and is famous for its chicken rice, but its serves other dishes as well. Tried the chicken rice set with my friend, with both of us ordering breast meat. The chicken was tender and sleek and the rice had just the right amount of oil. Rice was fluffy and easy to eat. The soup was passable though. The veg, though nicely chopped, was cooked with too much oil.

Tiramisu Smile Aug 14, 2013

Dessert bought home by my sister from Wimbly Lu Cafe. The Tiramisu was packed in an interesting plastic cup (which is pretty unconventional haha). However, the taste was surprisingly good. The alcohol content, cream and other ingredients have just the right amount. The serving was sufficient and generous (not too shabby like other tiramisus which comes in a small little cup). Good dessert to end of a meal.
