It's basically one of the most affordable western food you can ever get!

It's on Mothers' Day. Every restaurants would be filled with people and getting a table may last for a long time, therefore we've decided to try Iron Chef. The coffeeshop has been revamped for quite some time by then, but we never got the chance to try out Iron Chef.

Iron chef includes 2 sections - Western and Japanese cuisine.
We ordered food from both of it.

The place, after the revamp, it definitely look so much brighter and attractive. However, their tables are arranged too closed to one another, so it's kind of cramp to move around.

It took about 15 minutes to have all the dishes served.
The ordering process goes like this: order from the counter, make payment, the cashier will give you a number tag, wait at your table and food will be served. The number will be collected from you once all the dishes are served.

Price wise, it's really affordable.
It costs us $42.90 for 5 main dishes from Western and 1 fried rice from Japanese.
Fish n Chips - $5.50

As you can see from the photos, they're really attractive, and they taste awesome.
They have a variety to choose from, but we decided to try those.
The servings are quite huge as well. So by the end of the day, we were really full.

Overall, wonderful experience, quality food and really low price.lol

Feels like eating in a spacecraft Smile May 06, 2012

Starbot Cafe is one of the eateries in Universal Studios Singapore, located in Sci-Fi City next to the Transformers Ride.

The place was designed in a way that it feels like as if we were dining in a spacecraft, which is kind of awesome and cool come to think of it. (Well, I supposed going to USS already fulfilled the fact that it's awesome and cool.)

They sell Asian Delights (to me, more of Japanese style actually. And, it didn't really match the atmosphere. I have the impression of linkinf Sci-Fi stuffs to NASA in the US, so at first I thought they would be selling American Delights instead. But well, Hollywood settled that with Mel's Drive-In.. )

Service crew are super friendly (it's a tourist attraction afterall...)

Ordered their set meals, which costs $13.90 and includes a main dish, a drink and a dessert.

I ordered Poached Salmon with Olive Fried Rice. The dessert of the day was some pudding.
The serving was quite huge actually, and the salmon was cooked just nice, not overcooked.
I realised that all the salmon are cut proportionately, so the size are more or less the same. As for the rice, they have this really interesting scoop that shapes like a bowl with a handle, so each scoop will be equivalent to a portion, which allows standardization and every serving will be about the same.

Overall, it was fantastic because there wasn't a crowd, and the experience was peaceful. Food was great too, lol

Spending per head: Approximately $14(Lunch)

hungry for western Smile May 06, 2012

Went to Pasir Ris Park in the morning and decided to have lunch somewhere nearby.
So we came here instead.
Had a sudden craving for western food, and decided to order it from Hungry Jack.

It seems like there were more sheltered outdoor seats than indoor air-conditioned seats. There were no more seats left indoor, so we had to choose the outdoor one, which was pretty hot because of the weather even if there were fans.

The food, one word - SPLENDID.
I ordered Fish & Chips, witha serving of Cream of Mushroom.

I can't remember how much was it, but it cost less than $10 for both the soup and the main dish. It was definitely affordable.

Spending per head: Approximately $10(Lunch)

Hot Tomato Smile May 06, 2012

Categories : Steaks and Grills

Finally got to dine at Hot Tomato!

We dined during lunch at around 12 before the crowd started building up. Luckily we were earlier, if not we would have to wait for a longer time.
They took our orders first while we were waiting for our table for 6, so that we need not wait for so long for our food.

The ambience provides a warm feeling because of the lighting. The tables were pretty close to one another due to the limited amount of space. The decorations were quite amazing because it gives us a homely feel.

Staffs are very courteous, and never failed to smile whenever they interact with the customers.

Price, well, for a meal for 6 it cost around $100+ with GST and Service Charge.
Which means it cost around $17 per person.
The food, a variety of choices to choose from the menu.
We ordered 6 main dishes, with an upgrade to a meal which was $2.50 each and it includes a soup and a drink.

Mini Wok Noodle Smile May 06, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Food Court

The place is really crowded during peak period.
It is very convenient as well, located right next to Admiralty MRT Station, and there's ample of parking lots which is located in the building as well.

A lot of food choices to choose from the food court, but decided to try the Mini Wok Noodle from this stall.

It cost around $3.50, using the U-Card which entitles a certain amount of discount off from the regular price. For every stalls in the food court, there are certain dishes that will be sold at a discounted price if you flash your U-Card (or nebo Cards, etc. The accepted cards can be seen at the stalls).

The serving was quite huge, and the food is super delicious.
The appeal wasn't as attractive though, so they might need to work on that (but I doubt anyone cares, afterall, it's a food court. Important factors are taste and value for money, tongue).

Overall, environment still all right, very accessible, ample amount of choices, food is both affordable and delicious, smile
