Egg white crab meat Cry Apr 24, 2012
Categories : Shanghainese | Seafood

Tried their fine dining foods during my uncle's birthday celebration. One of their appetitizer which is the Egg White Crab Meat. May look good on their presentation, however the first try of it really bring my high expectation over this dish to a very low point. Lots of beaten egg white is used in this dish, although they are really smooth, but is is quite tasteless as well. The crab meat in it is quite little and not much taste as well. The deep fried crust outside is also not crispy at all. Really disappointed.

Sotong Balls Smile Apr 24, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Stall / Kiosk | Desserts and Cakes

These big round japanese balls with squids in it really has impressed me. It is only made upon order and take almost ten minutes to complete the making of it. Even though slight long wait is require, but you would not regret it as the outer surface is so moist and soft. The squid in it is not too tough and juicy. Love their special Japanese sweet sauce that are place on to of the sotong balls which make it really nice and let you craving for more. Price is slightly higher to other stalls selling the same items here, but I should say they produce better sotong balls than them.

Pink Guava and Pistacio Gelato OK Apr 24, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Italian | Ice Cream and Gelato

Newly opened at the West and decided to try it out. One of the best thing about this gelato stall is that the service staffs are really friendly and keeps on offering samplers to everyone who pass by the shops. I can really see how generous the owner of this Gelato shop really is. Tried both the pink guava and pistacio gelato, quite alright but think there are still some lacking to it. Or maybe I prefer those thicker and more milky version. The price is also quite high for a small cup of it will cost you four dollars and eighty cents already.

Deep Fried Items Smile Apr 24, 2012
Categories : Singaporean | Food Court

Really like to eat most of the deep fried items from this stall. The curry puff is with the thicker crust version, but is very crispy and the curry chicken fillings in it is really generous and slightly spicy. The yam cake is filled with lots of yam cubes and the texture of this kueh kueh is chewy, compact and yet delicious. The spring rolls here is also fill with lots of shredded vegetables which is quite an ideal choice for those who loves to have more vegetables and yet love to eat deep fried foods. At only eighty cents per piece, this is really a very good buy and I strongly recommend everyone to try it if you have yet to try so.

Red Bean Baos Cry Apr 24, 2012
Categories : Dim Sum

Although Din Tai Fung restaurant is suppose to be really good with their fine cooking on their noodles, soup, dim sums and other chinese dishes. I find that their steamed baos are quite poor in standard as was really quite shock to it. Tried their red bean baos and was quite upset with it. The bun's texture is really tough and not chewy. The red bean paste in the bun is quite dry and really too sweet. The combination of it makes this bun tastes quite horrifying. Really wonder did they purposely did this to make their bun looks more different and unique from other restaurants out there? Really confuse!
